Jane Wyman, 90, Star of Film and TV, Is Dead

[/URL]Jane Wyman, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of a victimized deaf woman in the 1948 movie "Johnny Belinda," played a fierce matriarch in the 1980s television series “Falcon Crest” and was the first wife of President Ronald Reagan, died Monday at her home in Rancho Mirage, Calif. She was 90.

Never one of my favorites, in her early years, she could toss a good wisecrack as well as Glenda Farrell.

I have to give her real credit, she kept her private life private and did not air any dirty laundry when she and Reagan divorced. A total class act.

And, she made those lovely and hysterically funny Douglas Sirk films with a hunky Rock Hudson.

Hmm, I just watched her first movie the other night, The Kid from Spain, though she only appears as a Goldwyn Girl. Great Eddie Cantor movie, tho.
