I'm am quite saddened to report that Brett Somers, beloved Match Game panelist and actress, has passed away at the age of 83 (http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/09/17/obit.somers.ap/index.html).
We lost Gene Rayburn in 99, the inimitable Charles Nelson Reilly in May, and now Brett. The holy trinity of Match Game celebs are all gone now.
This is a depressing day. :(
Yes, I know Dawson used to be a regular, but that sourpuss left mid-run.

I did love Match Game, Brett Sommers was hysterical, as was Charles Nelson Riley and if Fannie Flagg goes next, I will truly be very sad!
RIP Brett you were ______!

I saw a bit of the show on a funniest tv moments type show. I couldn't believe the wide lapels, hair styles, orange and brown set colors typical of the 70's, and that loooong skinny microphone the Gene had! What a blast from the past!!

I loved her on Match Game! Ahh, Charles Nelson Riley he was a gas and then there was the guy, who drank a lot, from Stalag 13...Richard someone I think.
I've actually caught some reruns on the game show channel and still find them hilarious!

I...and then there was the guy, who drank a lot, from Stalag 13...Richard someone I think. That would be Richard Dawson. He was on Hogan's Heroes before Match Game and then went on to be the original host of Family Feud.

And let's not forget the pretty girls of match game: Joyce Bulifant, Joanne Pflug, Lynda Day George, Betty White, etc.
