Debit cards, new tokens, higher values. (http://www.hasbro.com/games/kid-games/monopoly/default.cfm?page=Products/Detail&product_id=19783)
No cash at all! I do like the new tokens, I have to admit, but I definitely have mixed feelings. I mean, you can't even do the free parking cash thing if you wanted to, nor steal money from the bank while the banker goes to the bathroom.

Heheh, that's awesome.
Meanwhile, this week's Time Magazine reports that, despite rising and sinking tides of real estate boom and bust, home prices were valued the same in 1990 as they were in 1890.

The Space Shuttle? I like all the other new tokens, but seeing as it's less than a decade from retirement, seems an odd choice.

Yeah, that one struck me as a bit odd, too.
So who's buying this and when are we playing??

Yeah that one is bizarre. I think Altoids is a bit of an odd choice too. Ugh, those product placement marketing bastards are at it again.

Isn't there a horse and rider on the original?

It's a rocking horse, I believe.

There's an actual horse with a rider. But that's different. People still rode horses. Perhaps not as daily transport, but people still ride horses. Especially rich people, which is afterall what the game's about.

I'll be the stupid space shuttle if we can play the modern banking version just once.
(btw, how much would it cost to get a custom LoT version of the old board game??)

I'd rather have a Game of LoT, er Life. Instead of kids, we could get Mojo.

Is mojo a pink peg or a blue peg?

Coming up with all those spaces in Life would be tough. Coming up with locations for Monopoly would be easy - Rooftop at the Standard, Hollywood Forever Cemetary, the Egyptian Theater, not to mention all the Disney locations. One of the utilities could be Trader Joe's. I nominate NA & €'s pad for Park Place. :D
