This weekend at Sephora I found a great deal on the Philosophy face care stuff.
They had an 8oz bottle of Purity and a 2 oz container of Hope in a Jar alone with 4 samples of the microdelivery peel for $24!!
The Hope in a Jar is $35 alone!
The Purity is $20 alone!
WOW!

I, Prudence, hereby confess that despite the alleged presence of two X and no Y chromosomes I have never been to a Sephora. Ever. It looks scary. Do they have any face cleansers that work and don't suck?

Prudence ~ you must check it out! They carry heaps of different brands, and as they don't have counters as such I find it a lot less intimidating than a department store.
BTD ~ sweet deal! I love Philosophy:) At that price you could throw in a new 3 in 1 too!;)

It is very very scary. I was dragged in there kicking and screaming my first time by our very own Blueerica. :p
I really like this Purity line. It is my first time trying it. I have to admit that I hate buying expensive anything, so this was a stretch. I'm not sure if I will purchase it again since my Dove foaming face wash and Oil of Olay works just fine.
UG,
I could have threw in some 3 in 1 too, except I had already thrown in the Bare Minerals starter kit, some eyeshadow and nail polish. :D

Is this the kit you got? (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P55429)
If it is you'll love the microdelivery peel. It used to be called the Great One and it's one of the very few products that I SWEAR by. It's GREAT stuff, seriously is. I love purity, very good cleanser! I'm about it and I think I'm going to give Benefit's new cleanser a try, but if it don't cut it, I'm back to Purity :D
let me know about the peel!!

Why yes, yes it is the set I bought!
I'm thinking that the wash is making my face a bit more oily then my other face wash (Dove). And I've noticed some more blemishes. I'm not sure if it's the wash/lotion or my increase in water or just the new stuff working way better at sucking the grime out of my skin. I'll use it for a week and see. They said if I didn't like it i could return it.
I used the wash/lotion combo for two nights, used my other lotion (oil of olay) in the AM. My face felt way more oily during the day today too. Tongiht I used the wash and toner (Dove) and no lotion. MY face felt way oily about a half hour after my shower (before I used the toner). Tomorrow I'll try the lotion in the AM and toner at night. Any ideas?
I haven't tried the peel yet. I have extremely sensitive skin and I want to try it when I don't have to worry about going in public in case I have a reaction. I'll let you know :)

The Hope in a Jar moisturizer, if that's the one you're talking about, makes me more oily. I can only use it if I'm having a really really dry skin attack. Purity has never made my skin more oily except during "that time" In which if I look at something wrong my skin becomes more oily, gotta love it.
Oh btw, if you have really sensitive skin go light on the peel, try a little bit of the crystals at a time. You probably want to try a tiny bit in a less conspicuous(sp)area if your skin is that sensitive. It does make you a tad red RIGHT after, but that red fades away to a glowing finish(God I sound like a pathetic commercial! LOL)
I used to only use Olay with SPF 15 for yearssss but it started just not being compatible with my skin. It sucks cause I've tried so many damn mositurizers since then and nothing is working wells, stupid aging acne oily freakish skin.

And thank you oodles, BarTopDancer, for giving me two packets of the Microdelivery Peel you received in your kit! YOU ROCK! :snap: :)
I tried out the Peel last night while geekily watching American Idol. I was a little nervous, because microdermabrasion & me just don't mix. I have sensitive skin and it causes me to break out something just awful. :( <--imagine this sad little fella covered in spots. That's me, post peel.
However, I really liked this one! It burned a little, so I slapped on lots of cream afterwards to soothe my skin. Keepin' fingers crossed! Here's hopin' it works! So far so good! :)

The micro-delivery peel is amazing!! I accidentally bought two other micro-dermasion/facials scrubs from philosophy last week and got the micro-delivery samples (what I'd actually wanted to order....long story :p ....basically dsnylndmom wasn't around and I screwed up).
The scrubs/facials I ordered are okay.....great love and great mystery (?) I think they're called? But the micro-delivery peel system will be my next philosophy purchase! My skin looks better than I've seen it in YEARS. It's amazing!!! I've had an actual three-part microdermabrasion done before, and this stuff makes my skin look a thousand times better than salon facials and micro!!
I've also been using this eye cream the last few weeks (3) and if I wasn't so lazy I'd go upstairs and grab the bottle.....it's Active C, but I can't remember the brand...it was spendy, but highly recommended from a friend who works in a medical spa and it WORKS. I barely have an trace of a line around my eyes any more. And I don't use it everyday....I sometimes forget. But after about ten days....the lines were fading. And now they're almost GONE. It's the weirdest thing!!!
Between the eye cream, the micro-delivery peels, and the bare minerals...I look so much better....like I actually care about my skin! I was aging fast there for a while. Time to sloooooow that process down a little. ;)

Now you understand my " I SWEAR" by it :D YOu're going to be addicted I know it! I've got my bare minerals on the way now I need some of that eye cream, that sounds great!!

I really liked the Loreal stuff from Target. It comes in either a white or a pink bottle. I have the worst combo skin on the planet. It goes from so dry I want to rip it off to so oily it'll slide off my face. I also bought some pretty nice stuff from Bath and Body works. I think it was Biolage something in a white bottle.

The philosophy greatest love microdermabrasion scrub I got leaves my skin smoooooth and silky!! That's the really nice thing about it--it scrubs, then moisturizes. With the combo of that and the bare minerals, I'm nowhere NEAR as oily as I used to be.
I use the greatest love scrub in the shower, and by the time I towel off, my skin is smooth and clear. I sometimes get red patches in my "smile lines" area on dry cold days....but no more. All gone. And no need for a moisturizer at all.

Ooooh!! Moisturizer? You've come to the right place, Honey! :) I'm a big ol' addict. I cannot live without moisturizer or my skin becomes really fussy. My Creme De La Mer just arrived, along with the Creme De La Mer Face Serum & Eye Balm. I have high hopes and am so excited! I'll keep you posted! :)
Ooh! And so far so yay with the Microdelivery Peel. Shocking for such sensitive skin like mine! I'm keepin' these snappin' fingers crossed -->:snap:

:( As much as it pains me I think my new face stuff must go back. I used my old regimen last night and my face was nowhere near as oily. I don't think the wash is strong enough. I have two more attempts of different combos to try. If nither of them work back it goes :(.

Sorry the new stuff doesn't seem to be working for you BTD ~ I have very similar skin issues and have tried various things - some work and some don't.
Just had to share, I discovered the coolest bargain the other day at the Body Shop. I hardly ever go in there, but I was browsing & found their Tea Tree Oil blotting papers. Perfect for that midday shine and only NZ$4.50 for 65! Bargain!:snap:

The face cleaner, the eyeshadow (didn't show up) and the nail polish (already had that color) went back today. No probs returning it. I decided I'm going to use up the eyeshadow I already have (I have like 12 differnet colors) before I invest in new stuff or else I'll be duplicating.

NO more peels for me.
After yesterday's peel, my skin is still bright red and sore. Today, while I was shopping in Macy's with my brother's girlfriend, it got a little toasty and my face stung even with little beads of perspiration.
And I'm breaking out from the friction. Bumps ahoy! :(
My former dermatologist warned me ages ago that scrubs & exfoliants of any kind were a big no-no for me.
Sadly, my peel days are over for now. :(

:( I know that feeling. I didn't get to test the peels since they were going back and I figured I should have 2 samples left to return with the package. After your experience I'm glad I didn't try them. Someday when you are feeling brave again try the St. Ives Apricot scrub. It's so gentle.

The moisturizer I use I get from the health food store- Aubrey Organics, green tea & gingko moisturizer. SPF 10, which is less than the other one I use (Aveeno Positively Radiant, SPF 15) but I like the organic stuff better. They keep saying how green tea is good for your skin, and it really does help. Supposedly green tea helps heal sun damage and keep you from getting cancer. I'll go for that!
It's really funny that I read the thread on water and inner beauty today cuz just the last couple of days I have been making an actual effort to drink water instead of my usual herb tea.
I'm just making the rounds of the girly beauty stuff today.
