Heather and I just answered the 26 questions in the selectsmart.com Presidential Selector (http://www.selectsmart.com/president/2008.html). Our lists were the similar (but not identical) - but it's sure interesting to see who our top picks would be...

Kucinich (76%)
Obama (68%)
Fred Thompson (14%)
Does that mean I like Thompson approximately 2% more than STC does? (shudder)

I really need to start reading up on the candidates so I can decide which one is the lesser weasel.
I haven't heard of some of these people.
I know of Clinton, Obama and Thompson. Yes, I know Thompson was a Senator but I can't see Arthur Branch as President ;) I also disagree with a lot of his views.

Obama (83%)
Duncan Hunter (who?) (16%)
That actually surprises me, as I didn't think I liked Obama. Of the other major names I remember hearing about: 80% Kucinich, 78% Clinton, 72% Edwards, 66% Richardson, 48% Paul, 35% Giuliani, 31% McCain, 28% Romney, and 17% Thompson.

I was surprised that my #1 choice (after the candidate who is no longer running) is Joe Biden.

oooh, what a surprise. Dennis Kuchinich is my ideal candidate (d'uh) with 89%. My only better U.S. president would be ... me.
Obama came in higher than Hillary (87% to 81%), even though I'm voting for Hillary.
Only 76% for John Edwards. That truly surprises me. I guess I have the wrong impression of his positions.
Heheh, Mitt Romney at 20% (I'm surprised it's that high), and Fred Thompson at 12%.
Lemme see ... what are Dennis Kuchinich's chances????
Ugh, now I'm depressed. :(

Gosh, that's a lot of questions.

My top 6 (not including the theoretical 100% candidate who doesn't exist):
1. Augustson (Green guy, not running)
2. Biden
3. Clinton
4. Kucinich
5. Bloomberg (not running)
6. Obama
It's not enough to make me start canvassing for Joe, but it certainly makes me want to do a little more research before I cast my vote...

I don't remember percentages, but my #1 was the same no-longer-running Green Party (hahaha) candidate as Jesse, then Kucinich followed closely by Obama. Then Biden, then Hillary.
I just don't like Kucinich from a charisma standpoint, I don't want to see his face for the next 4-8 years. So my vote remains Obama.

I don't care what the thing says - it would take extreme circumstances to force me to vote for a major candidate. (Perhaps if the Republican nom is really, really evil this time around...)

I'm pretty well bunched up after the ideal candidate. Seems like it'll hardly matter whom I vote for. Which makes things easier.
