Now, I'm all for being tough on crime. But I'm also for reasonability in government. This is just ridiculous. Just the fact that the prosecutor is pursuing this, even knowing that they do it to get a plea deal, is outrageous.

Says he has a criminal history but doesn't say what for.....if the history was for a similar crime then yes, I would say the prosecutor is going overboard; but if his past crime is something serious then perhaps letting him see the inside of a jail for a few years will be better for society.

Interesting, though. I wonder if he had stolen, say, a Hershey's bar- would the cops have been so pissed?:D

It's not about the donut. It's about the ASAULT that was made on the store employee during the theft.
