To my dismay, I was about to fall asleep after a night of grinding away on a 10-page case that's due tomorrow. BLAH!

Nope, but to be fair at 1:55am it would have to be of a magnitude such that it would be guaranteed to make the lead on the morning news, worldwide before I would feel it. Oh, and I'd probably need to be a little closer than a few thousand miles from the epicenter I suppose.

No, but - WTF? Tom had picked me up from work and were in the area of Western/Melrose at 9:24 PM when the whole sky lit up a sickly green color. It was bright actually, which was odd considering it was so foggy, and NIGHT. We have no idea what it was, but I for one welcome our new insect overlords.

Interesting, I dreamed of an earthquake last night. To the best of my recollection, I didn't dream of insect overlords, although one of my dreams had a "war of the worlds" sort of feel.

Perhaps they weren't bugs after all, in which case, my dreams are starting to scare me a little. :)

Nope sound asleep in my bed with Lucy curled up by my head. :) Plus hurt my leg on Sunday night at work so i was had pain relievers in me and those put me to sleep and i don't wake up til the alarm goes off for Matt to get up for work.

The hypocentral depth is 9 km ( 6 miles).

Very good roll here in Dublin. I'd say it was the strongest I've felt since we moved here in 1998.

A good 5/6 seconds of rolling and then I'm not sure how much of what followed was more of it or just our building swaying. Our first roller, too. All of the others I've felt have been a couple big jerks.

My wife felt it up here in P-town. I was stumbling around with the garbage cans in the dark, so it slipped by. The dog felt it, I'd say. He was unusually happy to follow me inside, particularly since we skipped our evening walk.

We've been having some minor tremblies up here this past month- the last ones were in 2001, when we had a series of 2.5 to 4.5's over a period of six months. Not a big deal to you seasoned Californians, but we didn't know we were earthquake prone and now the scientists have discovered some very old fault lines, one of which literally runs under our house.:rolleyes: They tend to be very shallow, which the seismologists find concerning. (I don't know why, but that's what it said in the paper).

Keep safe and make sure you have your emergency kits ready- a 5.6 is a bit large to ignore!

It was my 1st earthquake. It was cool & scary.:eek: Taylor slept through it. Hopefully it doesn't happen anytime soon.
