This (http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,22556281-661,00.html) is the freakiest, most fantastic right-brain/left-brain test I've ever seen.

Is she rotating clockwise or counter clockwise? For me, she started one way when I was reading, and went the other way when I was looking at her - now, depending on what I'm concentrating I can get her to switch back and forth. Trippy!

She is mostly clockwise but changes depending on what I am reading.

That is cool. It goes clockwise for me. The only way I could get it to switch to be counter clockwise, was to use another window to block out most of the body, then concentrate only on the legs. Once I got the legs going counter clockwise, I could move the window and watch her go counter clockwise, but only for a few seconds, then she went back to clockwise again.

That's EXACTLY what happened to me, DPR! I see her clockwise, and no matter how hard I tried, she stayed clockwise unless scrolled down to block her upper body. I was able to keep her counterclockwise scrolling back up (with effort), but soon as her head appeared she was back to clockwise.

Does that mean I use both sides of my brain equally. Or is the direction I first saw the dominant one.


I'm told if you look carefully at her feet, you can see them turning both directions at once.

It is a cool optical illusion but the right brain/left brain stuff is just BS that has been added on by somebody as it moved through the internets. This is about the third time I've seen that make the rounds but the first two times it was just presented as a cool optical illusion without any mention of brain dominance.

Here's (http://www.theness.com/neurologicablog/index.php?p=27) a Yale neurologist talking about it. Neat, though; I go through periods where I can switch her at will (there are tricks to it but I usually forget them between viewings) to being perpetually stuck in one direction no matter how hard I try to switch it.

Mostly counter-clockwise, although using the looking-only-at-the-legs trick I can make it flip to clockwise. The default, however, is counter-clockwise.

When I started, it was counter-clockwise - then I read for a bit, and she was going the other way. It takes a bit of work, but I can change her direction... does this really mean anything (other than that it's a cool optical illusion)?

I started off counter clock-wise, and it was like that for a while until she started going the other way. Sometimes when I look away and look back, she's going the same way, others it changes... I don't seem to have much control.

ETA: Okay, I guess I can control it, though she seems to easily go both ways. Weird illusion though - first time I've seen it. Major mojo!
