Would anyone be interested in going to this? It is within walking distance of my place. It's a neat little wine bar. And there is a really good sushi place next door if anyone wanted to get food first.

Emergency Tasting & Auction

Date: Thursday, November 1, 2007
Time: 5:00pm - Closing
Cost: $20

Raging wildfires continue to threaten Southern California, destroying homes, uprooting thousands of families and causing the evacuation of hundreds of thousands more. With that in mind, Bacchus' Secret Cellar is organizing an Emergency Tasting & Auction to aid the victims. The tasting will consist of wines from wineries and distributors with ties to Orange County, light appetizers and entry to the auction.

A sampling of live auction items, which will be auctioned off through the evening, include:

~ 2003 Screaming Eagle
~ 1997 Bryant Family Cabernet
~ 1994 Harlan
~ 1997 Philip Togni Magnum
~ Mixed case of collectable Aussie wines
~ 2000 Schweiger Spring Mt. Cab Magnum
~ 3L Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio
~ 3L bottle from Miner Family Vineyards
~ Wine from the Coniglio Family Vineyards

More items are being added daily.

100% of the auction proceeds will be donated to The American Red Cross who is supporting victims of the Southern California fires.

Nearly all of us know someone who has been affected by this catastrophe.....Please join us and let's all help our Southern California neighbors!

They were really nice last night. I wish I could go, but I'll be in Utah for the weekend!

And I can't make it on a Thursday. Too bad, sounds like a good time for a worthy cause.
