I just found an amazing board... Badger & Blade. I have become a total addict to "Wet Shaving" - but the classic version using a brush and soap puck and lathering up the old fashioned way.
Here's my first post there... (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?p=354206#post354206)
Come join us and shave your troubles away (and Kevy, no posting the 'shaved beaver' cartoon there, OK?)

It's pretty early here, so that'll be my excuse, but I was thinking about shaving cats and kittens. You know...
OK. Time to wake up now.

Me too. Though I never would have guessed that a board about shaving existed! How cool is that, I love esoteric topics. :)

Wow, what an intersting board! Who knew?
A bear, shaving? ;)
Amazing what gets fetishized. Here are my two requirements related to shaving:
1) As fast as humanly possible
2) As infrequent as I can get away with without actually having a full beard.
Pursuit of a great, close shave has never been an interest since for me the difference between a good enough shave and a really close smooth shave is about 10 hours. After 24 hours there's no discernible difference.
I know, it is the "why make the bed, I'll just mess it up again tonight" argument. But it works for me.
But if you enjoy it, glad you found other people to enjoy it with. Though they must have some odd board gatherings.

I will say that a good barber shop straight-razor shave (complete with the hot foam) is a true luxury that every man should experience at least once. It is a much closer shave that lasts longer. I got one on the morning of our wedding, and I still felt baby smooth after we left Disneyland at midnight.

Hmm, perhaps if I could grow any facial hair I might enjoy shaving.
Of course, at my age, I enjoy the flip-side of the male hair pattern coin in having a full head of hair. So we'll call it even. Alas, I won't be posting on any shaving message board or luxuriating in an "old-fashioned' shave any time soon.

At 45 I have a thick beard, AND a full head of hair.... Got luck in the gene pool, I guess. ;)

And, there's no forum for shaving legs and pits - it's totally a man board.

This should be on every man's List Of Things To Do Before You Die. Even if it's not for a special occasion, just do it—you'll be glad you did.

To prevent bots from performing a billion automated searches, which is a major server drain.Do we get that problem here on LoT?

Do we get that problem here on LoT?Not sure. We don't even scratch the surface of our available bandwidth, plus the issue with search is about CPU cycles and since our hosting plan doesn't track that, it's not something we really need to worry about.

I did a google search for a funny picture to put into the thread along those, lines, lashbear. I had safesearch 'off'. There were some not-so-punny pictures that came back that seemed a bit... illegal. I decided that the joke was funnier in our minds.
