You just couldn't resist clicking, could you?

(That's okay, neither could I: http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=284021&GT1=7703 )

Actually, given her rep, this is probably THE best charity campaign she could latch on to - because her history with alcohol abuse actually makes her more legit, or at least not less legit. Kinda brilliant, in a funny-drunken-elephant-rampage kind of way.

I think I was the one who posted the story about the drunken elephant rampage.

Yes, we need to keep our assignments straight. CM: Bovines; BTD: Elephants.

CM wins for reporting on the drunken elephants, but BTD posted the Hilton tie-in and therefore is the overall weird-news winner of this round.

Paris copied CM - he invented liking rampaging drunk elephants, that's his cause.

See, this is EXACTLY what happens when we allow gay people to marry. :D Where will it end? Oh the humanity.

I can only find this in one place (http://www.kxmb.com/News/Nation/180706.asp) so far, so I am not sure if it is correct, but:

(11-13) 15:44 PST GAUHATI, India (AP) (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2007/11/13/international/i071548S11.DTL)—In a Nov. 13 story, The Associated Press incorrectly reported that Paris Hilton was praised by conservationists for highlighting the problem of binge-drinking elephants in northeastern India. Lori Berk, a publicist for Hilton, said she never made any comments about helping drunken elephants in India.

ETA: It is showing up in more places now.

Thank God! I was worried about those elephants- I had a sneaking suspicion that she was only after them for apparel purposes. I mean, how hard would it be to turn a pasted elephant into a matching bag and shoes?

Doesn't matter, they've gotten the attention by association either way.
