This is very sad to hear. I drive past this street all the time to work and I went to Middle School with Matt. My friend Aleia was best friends with Nakita (One of the two girls killed) and Me, Her and a few others were at Disneyland on Monday when she got a call saying that her best friend was murdered.

TEMECULA, Nov. 12, 2007 (CNS) - Autopsies are to be performed Tuesday or Wednesday on five people killed in a multiple murder and suicide at a Temecula home.

Matthew Blixt, 17, killed his father, Jeffrey Blixt, 45, his father's girlfriend, Naomi Gangroth, and her twin 15-year-old daughters Saturday before turning the gun on himself during a barbecue at the father's home at 31089 Iron Circle, a cul-de-sac near the Temeku Hill Golf Course, said Sgt. Dennis Gutierrez of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The boy lived in Desert Hot Springs with his mother and visited his father on the weekends.

"There was nothing out of the ordinary in the house," Gutierrez told a reporter. "The garage door was open and the door between the garage and the house was open ... There were no signs of a struggle."

Authorities have not provided a motive, but friends of the family said the son was upset that his father was dating a woman other than his mother. The father was reportedly separated from his wife and struggling financially and emotionally.

The gunman's 16-year-old sister, Danielle Blixt, was asleep in an upstairs room at the time of the shootings, it was reported.

The girl ran down the stairs when she smelled burning food and discovered the dead bodies, it was reported.

That's awful, Barfownz!:(

My best friend was murdered by a serial killer when I was 15. I learned early on that no one is immortal (as a lot of teens think they are) and that life is precious. I'll never understand why people do this to others.

I drove past the house today. Checked out the house and everything seems fine except for the teddy bears, flowers and cards, and cnadles on the driveway. As if nothing ever happened in that house.

Also. The house is RIGHT on the golf course, which means if you were in the backyard where the shooting did occur, and were on the golf course, you could possibly see it.

It makes me sick and i never even thought matt would do this. Mostly news coverage on the girls though.

File this under 'It's a really small world'......

I was reading the paper today, and in the obit section is a picture of an attractive thirtysomething lady and two beautiful girls. Reading on, I discover they are the mom and two daughters the OP was writing of. Turns out they are from this area and their parents and grandparents still live here. My co-workers husband, who is a firefighter but also has a side business providing escort/traffic control for funerals, is handling this particular service. So very sad. They looked like a nice family.:(

Are you from Palm Springs/Desert?

The two girls attended one of the thgree High Schools in my town.
I went to a party last night and we were kickin' it in the backyard, believe it or not, From the backyard of the house i was at, You could clearly and easily see the backyard of the house where the murder did happen. Sad stuff.

The girl who ran outside, who was upstairs sleeping who came down smelling burnt food and dead bodies goes to my school. I was talkikng to her on myspace, She's really beat down... =(

Nope, I live in Spokane, Wa. That's why it was so startling to see their obits in the paper. They are being interred in one of the cemeteries here, the reason given that the majority of their family is from here and the Bothell/Seattle area.
