I'm pleased to announce that my play, Dracula: Blood of Nosferatu (http://www.amazon.com/Dracula-Blood-Nosferatu-Play-Three/dp/0595208010/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1195567669&sr=8-1), is opening tonight at the Burford School, Oxford, UK. This is the first time the play has crossed the ocean. (It's been produced in Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, and had a staged reading in Mexico City, as well as an unauthorized production in New York.) This is a second form (high school) drama group. Here's how they're touting the show in their school newsletter:

Dracula:
Blood of Nosferatu
Tuesday 20th, Wednesday 21st, Thursday 22nd, and
Friday 23rd November 7pm.
Be there…if you dare.
This year, we present an original slant on the age-old tale of
vampires, delivered in melodramatic style, with lashings of
dark humour, sizzling sword-play and fast-paced action.
Be advised that some scenes are not suitable for a younger
audience.
Tickets are on sale from Reception now:
Adults £5, children £3.50.

Wish I could be there. If you happen to be in Oxford tonight, check it out! :D

It's a fantastic play! I'm so glad it has traveled the ocean for production. It must've stowed away on a freighter to get there, traveling with it's coffin so the light of day wouldn't destroy it. ;)

CONGRATULATIONS, CHAP!

Ah! Of course! Again, my acronym disability becomes all to clear.

By the way, thanks everyone for the encouragement and good wishes. And if Dan Radcliffe wants to be in it, I'll be happy to write in a naked scene for him.

Here's a report from the school drama director, sent to me last night just after the opening performance:

It ran (mostly) smoothly. Some funny ad-libbing and Lucy's bed collapsed at one point in 2-6, but they coped brilliantly and soon re-established the tension. We watched with growing pride and delight as it all came together. The audience were extremely impressed, and we seemed to achieve almost the right mix of suspense, hilarity and downright terror, which is wonderful for an opening night (still fine-tuning the lighting mix and getting enough blood flowing...). They are a talented cast - in particular, Renfield stole the show, and the boy playing Dracula (never been in a play before, let alone a leading role requiring such power and presence) came to tell me that it was the biggest rush he's ever had, and that he's hooked on acting!

It's been a huge challenge to rehearse, stage and polish such a complex script in just 10 weeks from start to finish, but we all just love it - thanks for such a fantastic script.

Pretty cool. I can't wait to see the photos/video.

Wow. Let me know when the production comes to the Pantages ... or, well, any venue in L.A.

That includes the ConeMeinke Playhouse on NYE.

Congrats. And Author, Author!
