The rainbow glasses (http://www.loungeoftomorrow.com/LoT/search.php?searchid=480555) enhanced Disneyland experience has made it's way around the world! What hath Steve wrought?

From e-Travel Blackboard (http://www.etravelblackboardasia.com/article.asp?id=49977&nav=81): Asia's "Number One" Industry Newsletter -
As the brilliant Christmas lights are turned on throughout the Park, special hologram glasses will give guests extraordinary Christmas vision, and delightful patterns will appear when guests watch the Sparkling Castle Lights, the white glittering Christmas tree and even the Disney in the Stars fireworks display.

Well done!:iSm:

Didn't MGM have those glasses one year for the Osborne's lights, before they dances?

The Studios had those for a number of years, back when the Spectacle of Lights was on the now-just-a-memory Residential Street. I suspect they were dropped for budgetary reasons.

Residential Street was the only really effective venue for SOL (love that acronym). Walking down that street, it really felt like visiting a suburban neighborhood that had gone completely bonkers with the holiday decor. on the other hand, putting those millions of lights on the New York Street facades just feels like a theme park that put up a bunch of lights. The sense of taking a journey is gone, and there is little charm to the spectacle as it now stands.

I still have a pair of those hologram glasses in a drawer somewhere.

Hmm, from the description it seems they're not prismatic rainbow glasses, but more like these -

Awesomness.

Yes, exactly. Fireworks glasses. My patented fireworks glasses have always been separate from my patented Space Mountain glasses.

Fireworks glasses produce images of snowflakes, or Noel, or - best of all - Stars of David - on every piece of flaming pyrotechnic. We used to use them quite a bit during holiday fireworks in years past. Should I bring them out again??

And I still want my cut. :p

I remember seeing the Osborne lights in 2002, and the glasses distributed then turned the lights in little angels...

Yeah, I think those (leftovers from a WDW visit) were the same glasses I first used at Disneyland. Can't remember the year though.

Well, then, get your butt on a plane. You've got a puppy to visit - not to mention Calliope.

I so need to win the lottery. Why couldn't I have won one of those YOAMD thingies?

I will be in Lost Wages Vegas that weekend - but I'll don my own rainbow glasses and look at all the pretty lights and designs and sing a song. Or something.

I got some of the holografic ones at Angeles Stadium right after they re-opened it after the remodel (don't remember the year). I also bought some of the Christmas one (like Steve mentioned) with the Noel, snowflakes, etc. from Albertsons about 5 years ago. I still have them all. They are cool!

I saw some kids whipping out rainbow glasses last time I rode Space Mountain. The trend has started. Alas, soon it will be time to abandon. They will be selling rainbow glasses at every Gap and Louis Vuitton.

Actually, it would be cool if they sold rainbow glasses outside of SM - hell, they make a mint on rain ponchos sold on the queue for the one water ride in DAK!

I'm good on the 16th, but I could also do the following weekend. Either way, I will bring Rainbow Glasses for all ... and a much smaller collection of Fireworks Glasses, that will have to be either shared or divied up by random bacon trivia quiz.

But, um, we should make a thread for the Disneyland Christmas Swanking. Not many people will know to look in here for that information.

They sell star, snowflake, santa, snowman, etc. glasses at Lowe's for $2.

Don't worry , I won't be there to cause any drama on the 16th.
