Anyone else watching Tin Man on SciFi?

It's a new take on the The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

I'm finding it to be an interesting take and I'll be re-watching when I'm not distracted.

I do know that if I hear "the o.z." one more time I am going to reach through the screen and strangle someone.

They've been distributing a mini-comic book at work to promote it.
Looks good, but "the o.z." is beyond annoying.

It's sitting on my TiVo, waiting for my downtime. Downtime? Ha.

We watched Part 1 last nite. Meh. Yeah, whoever thought that saying "the O.Z." was a good idea needs to be strung up by their nipples and flogged with a trout.

Also the villain is a bad, bad actress.

There are parts of it that I definitely like (like Zooey who plays D.G.) but there isn't one other character that I really like at all.

:DI had heard about this and decided that I will need to overlook this detail.

Other than "The O.Z" (which if you're not listening carefully sounds like "The O.C.") Tin Man has promise.

Ugh.

We're 90 minutes in to the first installment, paused for a phone call.

There's some good. There's more bad. Don't know if I'm going to hang with this one.

There are 3 episodes. With TiVO I can get through them. I want to give it a shake. My only major complaint (given I was only paying half attention) was The O.Z. as well as a few other things they did to try to be 'hip'.

We didn't continue - my phone call went late - and I dont' think I want to spend any more of my time on that awful film. I could have overlooked the terrible villian (bad acting and bad writing) but when the Tin Man himself turned into a laughably bad character (bad acting, bad writing, and he looked over his shoulder to say every line) I knew it was curtains. A shame, because I was digging their take on Dorothy for the most part. Alan Cummings was doing his best to deal with more bad writing but it's a losing battle.

Again, I'm reminded why I support the writers' strike.

yeah, not diggin this at all.
still....gotta see it through to the end. I mean, all this pain needs to lead somewhere, doesnt it?

I was fliping channels and tuned in for about 15 minutes. I couldn't take much more than that.

I'm confused (Not that that in itself is unusual).

What does the strike have to do with the quality of the writing? Sure the writers want more moola (who doesn't?) but how would handing them a raise make shows that suffer from poor writting any better?

That's what I thought about Twin Peaks,X-Files, Lost and Heros. I'm still waiting.

ok...saw all 3 parts..........

the sucking sound still echo's in my ears.

pretty much a weak contrived fantasy story with little Wizard of Oz references thrown in, in a vain attempt to make it even remotely interesting.
DG...the girl playing the part cant act and aparrently can barely walk.
her expressions and emotions come across vapid, forced and uninspired, her on camera presense seems downright uncomfortable.

what an absolute waste of airtime

Many thanks to Capt Jack for enduring so I can feel better for not watching it :D
