My wife and I went to go see the movie National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
And I just have too say we were absolutely loving the new Walt Disney animated short. It has so many of the classic elements like How to Play Football, or any "How to" Goofy animated short.
"Dopey Digital", Mickey Mouse mixed in with a serial or model number on the box of Goofy's television, Walt Disney's picture on the table with John Lasseter.
The whole theater seemed entertained with this back to basics short.
Has anyone seen this yet here?
Oh yes. I somehow forgot to mention it with my review of National Treasure (probably because my window for writing it was so damn short) but the short is really very good. Completely recreates the old-style Goofy instructional shorts.
Unfortunately, not good enough to be worth seeing National Treasure. Though maybe you can watch the short and then switch to a theater showing a worthwhile movie.

I'm not a big Goofy fan ... and would only appreciate the new short for its retro qualities to a type of cartoon I never really cared for.
If it comes packaged with NTII on DVD, I'll catch it on netflix.

It might be nominated for the Oscar, so it would be included in the presentation over at the Egyptian!

BTW, they will be showing this short with 101 Dalmatians at the El Cap when it plays. (I am thinking of going primarily as a way to bypass National Treasure and catch the short.)

Aw sweet, I hadn't heard of this, but now that I have, I'm glad there will be a way to see it without having to see National Treasure.

We just saw 'National Treasure' yesterday, and the Goofy short was really great. There was a lot of laughter from the audience, and it was ice to see an animated short before the main film- kind of took me back to when I was a kid and that was the norm. Btw, I love Goofy, so I was really happy to see them produce a good Goofy short.:)

Oh yeah, forgot to post that on Friday J & I went to go see National Treasure 2. We both loved the Goofy short at the beginning - especially since we've started going down the HD gauntlet.

Yes! Although I'd like to go just as much for 101 Dalmations, one of my very favorites! On opening night, they'll have the requisite panel, and plenty of tickets are still available. Swanking anyone?

I went to see National Treasure II over the weekend. I liked the first one but the main reason I went to see it was because of the new Goofy Cartoon. I wasn't disappointed. I dare say it was worth the $20 bucks I plopped down to see the feature (including the concessions).
Mickey Mouse is my favorite Disney character but I share a special bond with Goofy. I am legally blind and can sometimes be a bit clumsy. However when I mess up I get right back up again after having a good laugh just like Goofy.

Lol, BD! You know, I never really analyzed why I like Goofy the best, but I think you hit the nail on the head. I am a total klutz- always have been.
