View Full Version : Missed a mug?

We're not big merchandise types, but we did pick up few select items during the 50th. One of them was the undeniably spiffy retro mug from this pattern line:

Some time later, we believe some point in '07, we noticed a second mug that seemed to indicate they were doing a series:

Today, we found a new one (orange, with images of the 5 original lands). Now we're wondering if we've missed any, or if those are the only 3. I've done a bunch of searching (the only identification on the packaging or receipt is either "collectible mug" or "retro lands mug '08") and the two images you see here are the only images of the patterns I can find anywhere on the interwebs.

Anyone seen a 4th mug?

I have three of them, two blue and one green. Those were the only two colors I saw, and I kept looking but eventually kinda gave up.

Now I need an orange one! Where did you find it?

We have the blue and the green. Now I have to figure out how to get the orange. Great. Doesn't Disney know we've long since run out of cupboard space?

Same at my house. But I will throw something out to make room for another one of those. I love the two I have and use them all the time. Now I'm on a mission to find an orange one.

Seems the orange is brand new. It's labeled as '08 and was on the shelf in the Emporium that usually has newer items. Gimme a sec and I'll get a photo up.

BTW, I presume you mean two of the same blue ones, not that there are 2 different blue ones, yes?

Yes, my two blue ones are identical.

Thanks for the picture! I'm so glad the orange will be readily available on my next visit. Or some goon I know can pick one up for me.

The newest incarnation is interesting since the matching shirt and a few other items were light pink, while the mug was orange.

This is the only thing I've ever really collected, so scoring the new one brought me great joy. :)

Okay, but if you start grabbing at pin lanyards, we're going to have to send you up with Britney, kay?

No 4th mug. The Retro line started for the 50th anniversary, and gets updated about every 16 months or so. It went from blue, to green, to orange. You got 'em all.

These are terrific mugs. I look for new ones every now and then, but I don't collect them myself. I don't have much use for mugs, and have enough of them as it is.

But these are neato keen.

Nope, this is all we've got collectible-wise. :) The Shag prints were the only other thing, and it's not a continuing collection...

Very cool mugs. Like iSm, I need more mugs like I need a hole in the head.

I wanted the tray/candy dish, but was too late.

Great! Any idea how many they're planning?

Hmmm, the Orange mug seems have broken the pattern, if I recall correctly, that the Blue mug had 50's attractions, and the Green mug had 60's attractions. Is that right?

If so, my assumption was they were going to continue the set up to the present day, but the Orange mugs throws that off.

Or did I dream it??

Yeah, that was kinda what we were thinking too. Now I have no idea where they're going with it.

Or did I dream it??It's one of those things that wasn't really true but we wanted it to be. The 2nd (green) mug includes opening day rides (as you can see above) and the blue one includes later rides like the Haunted Mansion.

BTW, did you notice the tour guide girl in the plaid on the new mug? :)

Oooh, thanks for pointing her out. She's hot!

Hahahah, about seeing what we "wanted" to in the mugs, but that not being the case at all. I didn't collect them myself, but I could have sworn they were "by the decades." Ha! Makes me wonder what other non-reality things I perceive as real reality!

It IS reality though that with this new release they've changed the formula somewhat, by limiting the number of vignettes to one per land. Still, same adorable stylings. The new chick shirt is seriously awesome too, I had to look away or lose money to it.

Is said shirt viewable online?Nope, brand new. If we're at the park anytime soon we'll try to remember to get a shot...
