So, I'm flying out tomorrow night for CES.

Is there anything in particular that any of you would like info on? I can gather brochures, info, and freebies and mail 'em. :)

I hope you have a great time. I've had enough coworkers over the years that hate having to go that I've mostly overcome the urge to jealousy. But not quite.

Sweet!

If you happen to find an "any key" I'd take that. I had one but I lost it in a move. I can't boot anything without the any key to click! ;)

Pack your patience. Getting around is a complete nightmare. I used to have to go to CES for work. One year our booth was next to Disney Interactive - if I never hear "Colors of the Wind" again I'll die happy. Four days of hearing it full blast on a continuous loop.

Next year, I think I'll be attending with 25+ "Creative Advisors" under my company name. I wouldn't be lying! ;)

I'm pretty sure you're going to need a legal department, too.

Ok, then I will fill the following positions by next year:

25 creative advisors
5 legal advisors
15 technical advisors
10 personal sex slaves

Now taking applications. ;)

I did hear about the 150 inch Plasma from Panasonic (http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-9845548-7.html?tag=newsmap) ("As big as nine 50" TV's")

ETA: Panasonic also unveiled the first IPTV Plasmas (http://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/industries/retail/article/panasonic-previews-iptv-plasma-display_426698_7.html)

I loved this:
Plus, the company has a unique "early adopter" pricing scheme, in which the price is lower during the first 60 days; this is a great way to encourage people to start developing software to share.

I still don't get the big deal over Plasma screens - a soft picture is a soft picture no matter how damn slim the case it's in is. Gimme OLED!!!

I spent the day with the "minor" work related stuff. (Sorry, work had to come first.) The important research of the day - awesome DVD packaging options, and I scored some free samples. Go me.

Well, and I also got a way friggen cool CG animation program that's been used and approved by a couple guys at Pixar that I nabbed for a $50 show special price... ;) (I'll show it off later after I get home and install it.)

I really wanted to check out the AVN portion of the show, but having my father in tow made that a little too uncomfortable for me. However, next year, I am SOOOOOO there while he's off looking at TVs.

Tomorrow's agenda is the central and south halls of the main convention center, where I'll get to play with fun stuff like cameras, games, etc. :D

Go DP!

Silly me, I'm just so happy with my newly installed photoshop elements 6.0  compared to those with skill, I'm a babe inthe woods!

Have fun! Oh, and not to derail, I'm voting every day!

Because you've been so dutiful about reading up on all the breaking tech news from CES, we bring you some fun stuff that won't change your life, say, like Bluetooth connectivity, but is guaranteed to make you popular at the water cooler.

1) Michael Douglas is still sexy. (XStreamHD’s press-only conference.)

2) The Pussycat Dolls, who performed at the Microsoft party at the popular "Pure" nightclub are just hookers with musicial aspirations. Oh, everyone already knew that?

3) Yoko Ono and Sony recording artists Natasha Bedingfield, will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas and Pat Monahan of Train unveiled an all new John Lennon Educational Tour Bus at an invitation only press reception . Bedingfield also performed later that evening. Do you get the connection to CES? Me neither.

4) Kevin Costner and his band played at the reception. Kevin, don't give up your day job. Meanwhile, Mary J. Blige knocked everyone's socks off at the Monster Cable Monster Concert.

5) My favorite Indy race car driver (alright, alright, because she's a woman)-- and 2005 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year -- Danica Patrick, raced into the GoDaddy.com booth on Monday. The Danica Maniacs were out in full force.

See, all gossip you were dying to know and not a GB in site.

Work is not bad... I got into IAAPA because of "work" and i scored a lot of free samples there... and attraction pamphlets and such.

I cannot wait to see what you get to create with the CG program.

I got a phonecall today from a friend at Powercolor- he asked if I still lived at the same address, and said to look for some new toys in the next few weeks :)

I love CES :)

Coolest thing I've seen out of CES so far-

Taser Unveils Holster with Music Player (http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gFKkvK6jO5M9Yb59BPYP7v7JdbWwD8U16F780)

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A handy new holster from Taser International Inc. holds not only your stun gun but a music player too.

Taser's latest foray into consumer products was introduced Monday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The holster costs $72.99 on the company's Web site and includes a 1-gigabyte MP3 player.

The company, which also sells its electronic weapons to law enforcement agencies and the military, has been stepping up its consumer product offerings with Tasers in new colors like "red-hot" and "fashion pink."

The latest Taser — in a leopard print and costing $379.99 — "provides a personal protection option for women who want fashion with a bite," said Chief Executive Rick Smith.
