Wow, Fox must really expect "Robots" to tank to be pulling out something this lame...

Wow!

I'm guilty- I clicked on both video clips & watched! :D (I skipped voting.)

A few weeks ago, I was leafing through an issue of Us Weekly that actually printed a poll to decide "Who's cuter? Bit-Bit (Britney Spear's chihuahua) or Tinkerbell (Paris Hilton's chihuahua)?"

They actually polled people in Times Square & then shared the results. My Mom & I were mortified. Who volunteers their minutes, or moments for THAT? Holy Cow!

I dont' think it's the worst cross-promo ever. It has fun with two bad movies. Big deal.

Napolean Dynamite was not funny, and Robots has no originality.

I think for either film to get any cross-promo would only help.

I'll leave the opinion of Napolean Dynamite to another discussion.

The thing is, regardless of your opinion, Napolean Dynamite was hugely popular. I'm not sure, though, that it's even got the same demographic as Robots, even. But basically Fox is trying to leverage its only decent property they have right now to drum up publicity for their latest flop. Not gonna happen.

Oh I don't disagree that N.D. was a hit movie. I think this is just FOX's way of saying this new movie is the next big thing. If N.D. is the only decent property they have currently, I'm not surprised by the comparison at all. To me it's just like when Pixar releases a new film & at the beginning of the trailer it says "from the creators of 'Finding Nemo' " and such. Reminding people of the hit movies you've cranked out is not an uncommon move by studios so the promotion makes total sense. Sadly I doubt Robots will tank. Shark Tale was proof that you don't need a good script to make a hit movie; just computer animation. I suspect the real reason behind this particular promo is to reach out the late teen/young adult audience to prevent them from thinking this movie is just for kids.

The promo's not so bad IMO.
