I have an MA team member who has only been to the park once before in his life.. he's asked a question I cant wrapped my mind around.
He wants to make a candle in the park, because he seems to remember the one time he was there, years ago, he made a candle.
Now, he has never been to Knotts, which was his gf's frist thought.. but.. i ask you..
Has there ever been a candle making store/stand?

Hmm, not at Disneyland. Magic Mountain has (had? I think it's still there) a place to make candles (over on the far side of Jet Stream).

There was a candle store on MS, but I don't remember making any there.

It was probably a booth during the "Country Fair."

I also recall a candle shop on Main Street, I believe it may be where the clothiers is today, by what used to be the flower cart. I remember there being numerous hand dipped candles, but I don't recall them being actually made there - like what used to be a Knott's Berry Farm. I rememebr the shop being a favorite of my sister's, often leaving her there as I traveled further to the Magic Shop where the cool stuff was.

My dear husband was almost correct.

In Disneyland, the Candle Shop occupied a space just behind the Upjohn Pharmacy (today the New Century Timepieces shop), off West Center Street. Some time between the late 1970s and the late 1980s, the Candle Shop became just a memory.
However, no candle making mentioned. I think that is a confused Knotts memory.

Is it possible that your friend is thinking of the "Crafty Corner" at the DVM in Walt Disney World? I know it's a long shot... but they do have candle making.

And I was sure he was thinking Knotts, only he's never been to Knotts, nor out of the southwest, so.. I can safely say it wasnt WDW.
I will pass the information along, and see what his girlfriend gets as a response. Thanks so much!

NA is correct. There was a Candle Shop, on Main Street USA, in Disneyland. It was located inside the Emporium complex, near where the Glass Blowers used to be. It was converted into a book/record shop. i just saw a picture of the newly refurbed shop yesterday, but, can't find it now... anyway, it was in the northwest corner of Crystal Palace/Emporium...next to Carnation Cafe. the closest to candle making you could get was to buy the candles that dripped different colors.
