NA posted (http://www.loungeoftomorrow.com/LoT/showthread.php?p=185194&#post185194) about a fruit and veggie delivery service. We had talked before about the demise of Home Grocer, aka WebVan, and the other Web 1.0 delivery companies.

And today, I saw this:
http://www.amazon.com/subscribeandsave

From the details (http://www.amazon.com/gp/subscribe-and-save/details/index.html?):
When you order through our Subscribe & Save program, you'll:
• automatically receive a new shipment of the item in intervals you select--every one, two, three, or six months
• get a discount on our everyday price
• get free shipping on every Subscribe & Save shipment
• pay for each order only when the item is shipped
• have the option to cancel at any time

The catch is that they sell in bulk - 4 boxes of cereal at once, 4 bottles of detergent, etc. I could see myself using it for very specific items, maybe....though if I had a family of four it might be a better option.

Any other delivery sites out there that caught your eye lately?

I just wish I could find a good meat/fish delivery service (however, it wouldn't be fresh and they probably couldn't leave it on the porch).

I miss HomeGrocer.com.

I used to use webvan, way back when. At that time we also had an incredible neighborhood meat market that delivered (and had the best roast chickens), when they decided to retire after the landlord jacked the rent to the stratosphere, it was a sad day.

Now I do 90% of my shopping and schleping. I use Safeway delivery for the heavy stuff or packaged stuff. I love to pick my own produce, etc. So most delivery is not satisfactory.

Now, if Trader Joe's delivered in SF, I'd be happy!
