So some of you know I'm in a little CM show called Flashback. Or maybe you don't. But perhaps you've heard of it? This year is the 10th anniversary, by the way.

ANYWHO, tickets go on sale to those of us in the show on the 31st. I'd love to have you guys come. It raises money for charity, I think this year it goes to Make A Wish Foundation, but don't quote me on that.

Shows are Feb 26th and 27th, at 8:30pm, in the Hyperion Theatre

There are 4 types of tickets:

Gala - $60: Includes dinner, orchestra section seat, and priority seating (because actual seats are not assigned, so this lets you in first to get the best seats). I'm also hearing rumors of some kind of watch (show's theme is "Flashback in Time")

Orchestra - $20

Mezzanine - $12

Balcony - $7

So basically, I have to get the tickets at the Team Center, so if you want to buy tix, you need to let me know and get the money to me before the 31st (sorry, I can't afford to front the money). I would be able to buy tix after that date, but I don't know how long it takes the show to sell out, so earlier is better. I'd love to see you there!

I am totally not familiar. Sounds like a cool thing to go to if I was in the area. What is the show all about?

I think I've vaguely heard of this. Will us non-CMs enjoy?

The show works basically like this: there are 4 teams, who each have 17 minutes to put on a show. There are various musical numbers and a bit of plotline to string them all together. Kind of like a non-ABBA Mamma Mia.

This year's theme is "Flashback in Time", so each team was given a decade (50's 60's 70's and 80's) and their show is based around that theme. What team you're on is (mostly) determined by what department you're in.

I've actually never seen Flashback myself, but based on what I see in our show, it's cutesy, a bit cheesy (that'd be the Disney definition of a "bit" cheesy ;)), and humorous. Definitely musical. Plus we have Elvis.

By the way, Sadako is also in the show, and she's freaking hilarious. She has one of the main parts.

There are two show dates. If you guys wanna do a swanking though, you'll have to coordinate dates.

I hope that's not the 70's Elvis.

How about an 80's Elvis?

Errr, but Elvis died in the late 70's. So an 80's elvis would....

Oh.

I get it.

Funny.

Like the line from a Terry Pratchett book:

If my ancestors were alive today, they would probably be wondering, "Why is it so dark in here?"

It's 60's Elvis.

That's good but I gotta admit, 80's Elvis had some definite possibilities. :D

I know they don't know me but if they did I bet the people who got the 50's wish I was there to help them.

It sounds like this show is gonna rock!! :snap: :D

Here's what I found out: you CAN buy tickets at the door. Last night the Mezzanine was sold out, but the balcony seats were available for $10, and the orchestra for $25. So if anyone is suddenly inspired to be entertained this evening, parking is in Timon (old park entrance, off Harbor), gates through to the Hyperion will open at 7:30, and the show's at 8:30.

Profits go to Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Sadly, video was forbidden, due to copyright issues with the music and the risk of having the show end up on YouTube (eg:they only had the rights to use the songs for the show, not for showing on the internet).
