Neph just called me from pre-op at the hospital.

She's been having a slew of gallbladder attacks lately, so they're removing it today.

Please keep her in your thoughts, and I'll update you all later when I hear back.

Aw Nephy! I hope that it all has gone well and that your convalescence a short one.

Just know that all of that suffering will now be a thing of the past!! I, too, have suffered with gallbladder issues and they are extremely painful. {{{hugs}}}

I would highly advose against such a thing from my own personal experience.

However, get well soon, friend. Surgery sucks.

She just called, groggy as hell. They were able to do it via laproscopy, so she should recover fairly quickly.

She's now going down for a long nap - not sure if she's coming home tonight, or if she'll stay overnight.

I told her you're all sending her good thoughts - that made her very happy. :)

I'm glad the surgery was the less invasive kind. Feel and heal better soon.

Imagine. Removing your gallbladder just to get all this attention. Sheesh.

okies....:(

Thank you for the positive thoughts everyone- it means a lot to come online and see all this.

I have been having attacks too often- so I dragged myself to the ER at like 2am Monday morning. They gave me happy pain drugs, did an ultrasound and came back with the news I was frankly HOPING for- that they wanted to remove it.

The surgery happened faster than I thought it would- but because it was the laproscopic (sp?) I was able to come home last night. Looks like I will be staying home all week- and returning to work next Monday. (may go in on Saturday actually)-

I hurt owie owie- pain meds help but not as much as I would personally like :(

Gonna go rest more- talk to you all soon. Thanks again and hugs back-

Glad you're OK.

Do yourself a favor - limit your intake of pain meds as much as possible. Getting off those things can be brutal.

Vicodin makes me projectile vomit, so I recommend that you take my share. ;) Hope your recovery is a breeze! (But if it is, don't tell the kids. Might as well take advantage of all the indentured servant fetch-and-carry time you can manage....)

Pru, I like how you think! I second that and let the kids wait on you for a change. I think you deserve a rest, I just wish it had been under more pleasant circumstances.

I'm glad to hear you are home. Take care and take it easy.

D'oh! I'm an idiot. I absolutely forgot to mention sleeping with a full-length body pillow. It greatly helps with the discomfort from that particular surgery, because you can support your body on it, so there is no pressure from limbs, etc.

I used mine for about 3 weeks following.

So glad to hear you're home and I'll be wishing you a speedy recovery.

Like Pru, I projectile vomit with vicodin, so you can have my share, too. ;) Take it easy, and hopefully the kidlets can help you out with stuff.

Wishing you a speedy recovery with minimal projectile vomiting of the pain meds. You're recovering from surgery! Pretend it's the 60s and get groooooooooovy with those vicodins! ;)
