FYI, as mentioned in the Sooo thread, the board does not like it if you try to post using the word P-y-t-h-o-n. I'm sure other people have been having problems posting in this thread due to this glitch. (GD is on it.)

The first "web page" I remember visiting (using mosaic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosaic_(web_browser))) was a site in Germany with a strudel recipe.

If we are going to discuss our early geekiness, I have to mention that the first modem I used was actually a cradle that you set the phone handset into. It was for direct connection to another computer. I think the thing was about 300 baud (no kiddies: there is no "K" after that number).

I think this (http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?st=1&c=244) was our second one, but we had the Model III/IV conversion thingy. I used to have to spend many weekend hours formatting disks for my dad. One of the disk drives was "high density" so I had to put a little round silver sticker on those.
