This caught my eye (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080213/ap_on_hi_te/disneyland_futuristic_house;_ylt=Arr9nlqXHoCdNJ693 DnCte6s0NUE).
If it's going to look like a "normal" how from the outside, where's the swank in that? Somehow this sounds like house of innoventions to me.

The actors will be in a flurry of cooking, packing and picture-taking designed to emphasize cutting-edge features in the home's two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, dining room, study and back yard.Where do they pee?

Still, I'm glad that Disneyland is putting something more into Tomorrowland. Now, if they can just resurrect that Peoplemover! We were just at WDW and my hubby rode the Poeplemover for the first time -- he was blown away and thought it was super cool and retro.

Haven't you seen Star Trek. There are no bathrooms in the future.

I think they're still planning to bring back the Peoplemover.
My question is: I've heard about every single new attraction via one of the major bloggers before they ever hit the papers.

I'd love to see a return of the Peoplemover, it would be retro and nice. But, I ask, are there tracks still running through the old portions of what used to be IASW, etc.? Or were those thing already circumvented for the Rocket Rods?

I don't for certain about earlier Star Treks but I know that in at least Voyager and Enterprise there are bathrooms.

They did not alter the track layout at all for Rocket Rods.

Alrightie, then I'm going to assume the tracks are still in the various show buildings (Carousel of Progress, etc.) and they'd likely be updated with lights and other theming if we're lucky. Assuming that the Peoplemovers do actually make a return to Tomorrowland. Thanks for answering my question, GD.

But, they can no longer be open air vehicles, as CAL-OSHA has determined the clearances within the buildings the tracks run thru are too tight.
Bah.

Let's make all the old-school fans happy and dangle Skyway cars from the PeopleMover track. So a few distracted guests will get bonked on the head. In the long run it's worth it. "But what about where the tracks enter the show buildings?" you might ask. Slo-mo inversion. A couple of cushions inside the roof will alleviate any major injuries. I will submit my detailed plans to Disney this afteroon.

The Rocket Rods did a wonderful job weakening the entire structure of the old Peoplemover supports, so I'd expect to see new Peoplemovers in Disneyland just after they rebuild Cascade Peak.

The transporter has a filter for that.

I'll only be impressed if they add a toilet seat that will automatically adjust to my preferred temperature upon recognition of my butt print.
Now THAT is useful technology!

Now THAT is useful technology! While not automatically set temperature based on your butt print, they DO make temperature controlled seats. I like this one (http://www.mybidets.com/daelim-cleanlet.html), which includes things such as:
Dryer
Warm Seat
Adjustable Nozzle Position
Massage Function
Feminine and Family Cleaning
Five Adjustable Water Pressure
Temperature Adjust
Soft-Close/Open
Power Saving Device
Self-Diagnosis Device
Nozzle Self-Cleaning

Every time we go to Japan, I get toilet lust.
Kevy's graphic reminds me that I need to find and post my video of Heather getting squirted in the face by a fancy toilet seat in a Kyoto hotel.

I love Japanese toilets - the fancy ones. I hate the non-fancy ones. It's feast or famine with the toilets of Japan.

I got so excited when I heard about this until I realized they were not going to bring back the actual House of the Future. I realize it's an antique by now but I would love to see it again.
It sounds like what they're doing now is the House of Next Week.

Sure, and we think tornados are tough on mobile homes. I think you'd have a big pile of paper mache ofter a pretty rough storm! ;)
It is an enteresting idea, though. There are a lot of people without houses in this world, and if this can be made to withstand weather and made cheeply enough it could be a big help. If the cardboard parts were made by mass production and wax coated or water-proofed somehow it could work.
