Both cool and disturbing in one package. Seriously, if they started walking towards me a la Toy Story, I'd probably scream :p

:( Taxidermy weirds me out. I really want to like this - the artistry is awesome - but all I see are dead animals. There's a duckling! :(

Creeeeeeeepy! The art is interesting but I find the dead animals too distracting to appreciate it properly.

heh- I don't find them creepy in the least.

Death is a part of life-other than the artistry there is no difference between these critters and the stuffed beasties we look at in the museum.

Then again I also loved Body Worlds- I have a high tolerance for the creepy and macabre.

Ducky! :(

I appreciate the artistic attempt, although, I'd be more impressed with some fine photoshop work or sketches of the same things. I think a DaVinci-like blueprint sketch of a mechanical cat would look totally awesome.

An animal dies- it can either be discarded or used. For science, for food, or for art :)

I like the art.

I suspect the second link simply uses bones that can be bought at specialty stores- I very much doubt these animals are being killed for the purpose of being art work.

Might I suggest a LOT movie screening of Bucket of Blood, the Roger Corman Beatnik artist horror film about a sculptor whose statues were once...alive.
It begins with a cat...and progresses.

Vintage Corman from the Little Shop of Horrors era.
