Here's the pictures from my new camera - http://picasaweb.google.com/CoasterMatt/MyNewCamera
There's plenty of different pics from Disneyland, including some people you may recognize.
I also took some fireworks pics last night (not that great- we were on the esplanade, and I was really tired)

Now you can drool over the same lens (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0511/05110103nikon18-200vr.asp) I do. :D

So what IS the new camera?
Nikon D40. Identical to my Nikon D40X save for megapixels (6.1MP vs. 10.2 on the X). Fantastic cameras both.

I've got one on order :)So.....jealous. How much did you spend for it, may I ask? And which kit lens(es) did you have? I got the kit with the 18-55 and the 55-200, neither with VR.

DOH!!
Sorry, I misread that - I have this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830993043) one on order.
The lowest price I've seen for the 18-200 VR was around $520 - maybe if Rose goes to see Bon Jovi in Chicago this summer... ;)

Yeah, the 55-200 is my second choice. But damn it'd be nice to not have to switch lenses.

Congrats on the new camera. Nice pics! The best thing I love about seeing these awesome Disneyland pictures is the detail that I could never see with my naked eye (let alone with glasses on). Thanks for sharing!

nice!
Well...if you're going to settle for Nikon I suppose that's a good one.
(That's just empty trash talking; I'm a Canon person and am working hard to convince myself to upgrade to the 5D prior to our Europe trip this fall rather than just the 40D. Actually I like the Nikons a lot, I just don't want to have to get new glass -- not that I have a lot, I just don't want to replace it.)

So how many nekked pictures of your wife have you taken?

One thing that I'd like to point out about all of the pictures I've posted so far - I didn't use any manual setup- they were all taken with the auto programs, I haven't even started the really creative stuff. :)
It's like a kickass point and shoot - with the ability to go manual when I need (or just want) to.
