I couldn't help but think of that song from "The Goofy Movie" tonight.

As stated in the Sooo... thread, the Wolfpack rescued 2 abandoned baby opossums this evening. Thanks to their kindness, these babies will now grow up healthy. They will be turned over to a wildlife center tomorrow, and then released back to the wild once they are fully weaned.

I was honored to visit the little ones and assist in playing "momma" for a bit. They sure do love to snuggle!

You guys are so sweet taking care of them!
:)

---------------
Now gather 'round my possum pals, join the jamboree
Come hoot and howl and holler from the heart
Every chicken, pig, and goat will help by yelpin' out a yodel here at Lester's Possum Park

Visit Beula's Farmm of Fiddles, pet our varmints, taste our vittles
Lulu's lizard gizzard pie's a work of art
Then do a doe-see-doe and dance like there's a possum
In your pants down at Lesters Possum Park

Well, don't ya wanna be a-hangin' from a tree?
We're mighty glad to see ya and the parking's always free
Here at Lesters Po-po-possum park!

Oh my. Lots of little animals tend to end up at the Wolfpack's place, don't they?

Speaking of Opossums, I almost ran one over on my way home tonight. Luckilly, I saw him in time and he also turned around and went back.

Thanks for coming by taking the pics and posting them! Will keep everyone upddated.

Was up at 3AM for feeding time and will continue feeding every 4 hours until I deliver them to Huntington Beach Wetlands. Will be calling them this morning and hopefully dropping the two little guys off this afternoon when Wolfette gets out of school.

Lucky baby possums! They're soooooooooooooo cute! I've never seen them as babies. They're amazing. Their fur is silky soft, and they are really cuddly and like to be pet. My favorite thing is their paws. Those cute little "hands" like to grab onto your fingers. :)

OK....they won't be your meal. They have been taken to a wonderful Wildlife Rescue place in Huntington Beach, CA. They will stay with them or another volunteer for about a month, then released into an unincorporated area. No major predators, plenty of bugs etc to eat and a running stream or water source available.

We have made 2 little critters guaranteed a good chance of a full life!
