In Santa Monica (http://www.lamodernism.com/)

Bill & I have been going for several years. We're planning on going this year on Sunday, May 4th. Anyone else want to join us for a swanking?

Oh, I'm so joining this swanking.

The photos from last year's event have me drooling.

Funny, though ... for the most part ... modernism isn't so modern anymore. But i still LOVE the style.

Oh, hell .... what to wear???

Don't confuse modern with contemporary or post modern

Well, from the look of the photos, there was quite a bit of post-modern mixed in with the modern.

I thrill to both, so all's good.

Maybe I'll dress contemporarily to bridge the gap. :iSm:

If we go (likely), it'll be on Sunday the 4th. Remember, this is also the weekend y'all were planning on seeing Little Mermaid.

Ooooh, thank you. I knew there was something about that date. But I'm always double-booked so it doesn't bother me so much.

I'm definitely doing Little Mermaid. Was that supposed to be Saturday or Sunday? Guess I'll dredge the thread.

*Bump*

Anyone else planning on going? So far, it looks like NA, €, My partner & me.

What about your new avatar man? Will he be there?

Are we talking Saturday or Sunday? I wanna go, but have to plan my weekend around it (I wanna take my ex to Disneyland the other day, since Wendybeth was kind enough to give me her unused 5-day passport remant ... but it expires on the 7th, so we have to go this weekend. Wow, she hasn't been in years!)

Sunday the 4th.

I think it's a bit far for Olof (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=olof+melberg&btnG=Google+Search)to come, but I certainly wouldn't complain. ;)

Gotcha. Sunday.

Ok, gonna try to switch Disneyland to Saturday, with the hook that we can stay till closing 'cause it's not a school night.

So ... Olof or not (Le Grande Sigh), looks like I'm in.

So, what's the plan, then? Cellphones?

I don't have Olof's number.

Great show! Lots and lots of eye candy followed by a wonderful dinner and a visit by Boss Radio and a quick shopping excursion on 3rd st. Great day!

Too bad I forgot my three hundred thousand dollars in my other pants.

Otherwise, what a great modernism show and sale.

About three quarters of the way through, I hit aesthetic overload. So many stunningly beautiful things. Ugh, a nice quanity of good-looking gay men didn't help either. And rich, too ... unless they were posseurs like us.

As I said right after the show ... I've always wanted to be fabulously wealthy - - and now I know why.

What IsM said is true; lots of pretty things to see... And there was furniture and art too!

I do think we have decorated the entire LoT commune though. Now all we need is a few million dollars.

Plus the funds to refloat a beached Ocean Liner somwhere along the coasts of India.

Sadly, it would be far cheaper to build a new ship.

Ooooh, to our own specifications. Right now, I want the floating version of Tony Stark's Malibu swank pad, as featured in IronMan.

So, what would the Swankitania look like...

Hmmmm.... I have next week off, and it looks like we're not going out of town as planned....

I think it time to create the Center for Rational Hedonism think tank - we'll be a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to exploring ways to improving the pursuit of happiness - we of course will be the first test subjects...
