So, what's on your bucket list?

After reading this thread (http://www.loungeoftomorrow.com/LoT/showthread.php?t=7795), I figured it'd be fun to hear what you simply have to do before you die. What cool sh*t have you come across that you've decided you must do?

For me... well, this is less "before I die" and more "in the next few years", but I've decided I have to see Deia (http://www.bestofmallorca.net/information/cities/deia-village-mallorca-majorca), Mallorca (http://www.travelmail.co.uk/travel/Spain/Deya/Picture-perfect-Deia.html?article_id=26333).

I don't know. I've found that going into an experience with high expectations is a recipe for disappointment. My best experiences have been completely unplanned and mostly out of the blue (for example, Canyon de Chelley was a very powerful experience but I'd never heard of the place before the day we arrived and started poking around).

The key for me is to put myself in places where that can happen as often as possible without actually trying to plan them. So, to the extent that I have a list it is pretty soft.

I'd like to eat at French Laundry at least once.

I'd like to watch a baseball game from every Major League Ballpark

Watch a game in every step of the A's farm system within the same season.

Visit enough countries that I can attend a UN conference and regale most attendees with stories from when I visited their country.

Pee on a wild animal that isn't a sea lion since that story is all worn out.

Do a very long distance walk. I vacillate between staying local and walking from home to Yosemite and wanting to shoot the moon and walk to New York City or something.

Swim in the arctic ocean. This is the item I have the firmest plan for, but it is still pretty soft.

Get farther into Don Quixote than the first 100 pages. Those first 100 pages are so damn good, why can't I get any farther?

I'd like complete, unhindered access to all areas in the following:

The Louvre
The Library of Congress
Harvard Library
Oxford Library
The Hague
Area 51

There's more, but that would be at the top of the list.

I'd like to travel to as many countries as I can visit - on the short list, return jaunts to Australia, New Zealand and Italy would be nice, as well as trips to places I haven't been - and that includes much of Europe, and also Asia, South America, Africa...

I've researched Shakespeare in the Folger library, but I've yet to visit Stratford-Upon-Avon yet.

I'd like to direct stage or filmed versions of as many Shakespeare plays as possible.

I'd like to direct stage or filmed versions of as many Sondheim musicals as possible.

For that matter, I'd like to direct stage or filmed versions of as many LSPE originals as I can finish.

I'd like to dine in a super-swanky and expensive restaurant with terrific food, and I'd like to stay in a super-swanky and expensive hotel. Even if just for one meal, and one night.

I'd like to go to the Academy Awards. Even if just as a seat-filler, but preferably on the arm of a nominated director. (One particular nominated director. My husband.)

I'd like to participate in surprising, conversation-starting guerrilla theater.

I'd like to swim in every ocean.

I'd like to own a dog and a cat as an adult. (We have two cats now, but I still don't consider them mine.)

I'd like to own a house - not too big, but not tiny - decorated in exactly the way we want it to. In order to do so, I'd like to shop at more estate sales as this generation of Hollywood passes to the great silver screen in the sky.

I'd like to own a house and a dog named Betty, and see TDS.

Besides that I have no idea. Maybe work for the cheese man when his product gets into Whole Foods/Gelsons/Bristol Farms and hits the big time :D

Bless her little heart for trying though ;)

(Psst! LSPE, remember: cats don't have owners... they have staff)

Hey! My roommate said something nice about me! :)

On the list:

Become highly influential within the world of Disney theme park planning and decision making

Own a beautifully furnished Craftsman home, and be a gracious host

Rid my life of combustion engines

Turn my small business into a big business, a generous employer, and a benefit to the community

Make my living acting on stage

Visit the Grand Canyon, Hawaii, the Swiss Alps, April in Paris, Autumn in New York, Springtime in Springfield

Please, please, PLEASE - At least 2 weeks in Japan to see Tokyo Disney Seas, Tokyo Disneyland, Studio Ghibli, temples, cherry trees, etc.

Learn Japanese (so as to chat with my Cute Japanese Vacation boyfriend)

Go to the gym, lose 30 pounds, get health insurance, clean my room, continue to take person inventory (and when I am wrong promptly admit it), balance my checkbook, marry the man of my dreams, and transfer all my vhs tapes to dvd

Before I die, I want to have some kids, have some grandkids, and have dozens of family birthdays and Thanksgivings and Fourth of July BBQs at our house.

I'd settle for people just not automatically serving me a larger than normal slice.

Trust me, it's worse when they offer you a thinner than normal slice.
