Hi all. Tomorrow (Wednesday) I will be undergoing hernia surgery. it's the very first time in my heretofore uber-lucky life that I will be going under the knife. It's a pretty routine procedure, and I'm looking forward to having it done. My inner 12 year old is a little freaked at the thought of being anaesthetized, just because I've never done it before, and I tend to resist giving my consciousness up to sleep let alone to some stranger in a white mask. Still, I expect everything will go smoothly, and then I will be convalescing for a few days here at home. Check in with y'all when I get back.

Be sure to type while on painkillers!
It entertains the rest of us.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!! And being anesthetized is sort of fun, you count backwards from 100 and by the time you get to 99, it's like HOLY COW I'M SLEE... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz oh, is it over?

Good thoughts and good vibrations are being sent your way Flippyshark. You will be in my prayers tonight and tomorrow. I definitely know how you feel the night before a procedure is done. I've been under the knife over 15 times in my 25 years on this Earth. Think positive. Watch a good funny comedy or cartoon before bed. Know that we are all here for ya and are all behind ya 150% :D

Best part about anesthesia for me is asking Nurse Gladys* "When am I going in?" and being told, "it's already been done" !
(*True story, only the names have been changed to protect the nurse)
We'll be thinking of you on Thursday (which is your Wednesday).
Hugs !!!
...PS: Watch what they remove, otherwise we'll have to call you "Darla". ;)

I'm sure it'll be a breeze and a snap - but I'll be really disappointed if you don't play it up... THEATER!!!
We're thinking of you...

The anesthesia is the easy part! Waking up is what sucks.
You'll be absolutely fine. And don't type while on drugs. Trust me.

Flippy,
I just had mine in March. Dose up on the pills, keep iced and don't use the "Buy it Now" feature on eBay while you're doped up.
I did, and the damndest things started showing up in the mail...
Good luck.

Chris needs to have this done at some point. It should be fairly easy and you should recover quickly. But, PLEASE type on pain killers, I need some competition.
Here's hoping for an uneventful procedure and a quick recovery.

We need to compile a 'Posting While Stoned' greatest hits thread- with all the surgeries we seem to have around here, it might rival the 'Sooo....' thread.:D
Feel better, Flippy!

It's a breeze! I've had two of 'em. Unfortunately, the hernia just moved up the muscle wall and popped out again. So, until I lose a few pounds, get health insurance, and can take off from my business for at least a week, it will make about 23 years I've been going around with a hernia.
Left inguinal, if you're curious.

Good luck! Yeah, don't order shyt while on meds. My mom went a little nuts on the home shopping channel while recovering from back surgery. While she was wildly entertained by the stuff that started showing up, she admits it's not exactly stuff she'd have bought sober.

Thanks everyone for the long distance hugs and good wishes. I am now convalescing, with the hel[p of my two fuzzkins. ( Can you train a cat to bring you soup?) I am told that today wil be my toughest day, aches and pain-wise. I have Vicodin, which is nowhere even close to the delightful substances they dripped into my system yesterday. I want more of that!
I hope this isn't too coherent for you all. It's an abtastic wham to the gearbox. Seven is less than the pied piper on his street machine, are you digging? Power to the puppies.
