Has anyone caught one of his original posts? that is, before he has edited it?

I am suddenly imagining myself on the bridge of the Enterprise. Sensors are detecting an anomaly. Captain, I believe it is the anomaly known as Tref.

Tref is our Cruise Director Julie Whatshername. Or, maybe he's just Isaac the Bartender. Whatever he is, we watch the Tref posts daily.

Hmmm, why do I want to cast him in numerous TV shows of my youth - would Tref be Bosley or Charlie?, Mr. Kincaid or Danny? Siegfried or Chief? Curiouser and curiouser I tell you.

Oh, Don't get me going on TV shows. It's has to be 5 am for that! Silly Meinkeboy.

Silly Meinkeboy.
"Uh, Meinkeboy, aqui!"
I hear the Genie from Aladdin saying this.

And why can't I read my so called unedited post!

What does this all mean?

I can't see it either. Must be the anomaly screwing with our sensors. Can we send out a shuttle crew to investigate?

Better include some redshirts.

It'll be extremely dangerous, so let's send down the captain, the first officer, the first medical officer, and some redshirts, leaving a skeleton crew aboard the ship.

This is so unfair to Tref. I'm now picturing Tref as Armus -- the tar blob that killed Tasha Yar.

Did the tar blob wear an aviator hat with goggles?

I always picture Tref as a version of the kid from Rushmore. Insanely funny without really trying, but also has a really big heart. For a long time I thought his real first name was fake. Actually I'm still undecided. Not that it's an unusual name, but I've never known anyone real with that name and it seems like the name someone would make up at the drop of a hat, which seems like something Tref would do. Who is the real Tref? He is everyone and no one at the same time. A true anomaly.

If I die; and granted I have no immediate plans to do so -- ever -- Traci, you can do my eulogy. That was great. I don't know what I did to deserve such praise, but that was just terrific. Not even my poor mama could have done better.

Just reverse the polarity and the anomaly will disappear. ;)

Aw, now that is the saddest thing I have read about myself. No more, Georgie?
Woe is Tref.

But now Traci has me thinking about my eulogy ... Hmm ... has anybody ever considered writing their own? What would you say? Mine is all done, thanks to Tarci. I may as well find a field of flowers to lay my poor body down. Ahh, the sweet peace of the grave.

Aw! My first eulogy! A landmark day indeed. I don't know about my eulogy, but I'd like my headstone to say "Mediocre." Because really, I'm sure that most people want their headstone to say something grand, but 98% of us really are mediocre. If I'm dead, I might as well be honest.

I don't plan on dying ever, either. Or growing very old.

So we can be never grow old or die buddies.

Ilikeit!

I have been thinking about it. If I were to have a headstone I would want the type that has a space for a photo. It would be of me looking forlornly at my watch.

Or maybe, one of me looking very sinister and then underneath would be the words, I am going to eat you!

Hmm, I don't know, I'll think about it some more.

I always like the tombstone joke where it reads "Look behind you."

Mine will most likely say, "Finally, a room of my own!"

Or, mayhaps "Nap time!”

Or, mayhaps, "Rattle my bones!"

Or, mayhaps, "All her life she caught and ate, now at last she is the bait."

I love tombstone headings. Of course, the prettiest I've ever read is "I had a lover's quarrel with the world." I believe that one belongs to Frost.

I am with you EH1812. I say we should both write up a contract of sorts, declaring that we will never die.

Then we'll sign 'em and then sign each others as witnesses. As far as I know, that makes it legal. I am not one hundred percent certain, EH, but I think that should pretty much protect us against dying.

Deal?

A Faustian deal it is. And since we're only dealing with each other, what's to fear?

Will this guy (http://www.nakedan.com/index.html) suffice? The question is, where does he keep the stamp?

(I know it has nothing to do with whatever Faust inside joke you two just enjoyed, but having been tricked into seeing this link thanks to Dave Barry's blog, I couldn't help but subject others to it when I saw the chance)

Dave Barry has that effect on people.:D

I don't know about Faustian- the first thing that came to mind along the lines of Sartre'ian, as in No Exit. Although, I wouldn't bitch if I were allowed to be the third person in that little pact. Well, not for the first 100 years or so, anyway.

Who was it that theorized that if one never entertained the thought of growing old or dying it would never happen? I'm much too morbid for that to work. I have most people's funerals planned in my head. Of course, I have to outlive everyone for those to work out.

Lovely theory. Of course, if true, I'll be an old hag and dead by next Wednesday. Hurrah!
