NASA making a huge announcement today. (http://www.nasa.gov/home/hqnews/2008/may/HQ_M08089_Chandra_Advisory.html)

I'm thinking they've finally proven there is a black hole in our galaxy.

Actually it turns out they are not really black (http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/news/Title,21283,en.html).


The fact that there is a black hole at the center of our (and most of not all other) galaxy is old news. However it sounds like they might have finally been able to get an image of it.

NASA has scheduled a media teleconference Wednesday, May 14, at 1 p.m. EDT, to announce the discovery of an object in our Galaxy astronomers have been hunting for more than 50 years.

It kind of looks like a baby head swaddled in a blanket. Or a really bad drawing of Caesar.
