Very cool blog exploring the landmarks of LA, One Monument at a Time! (http://bigorangelandmarks.blogspot.com/)
This could be a really great vacation planner for many fun and offbeat spots (or not, depending on the landmark)

One of my goals is to take a week off from work, stay in town, and explore my city. This will be a big help when the time comes. Thanks!

COOL!!!!!
I've been in the mood for some 'sploring.
BTW, that Smith Estate looks a lot like the Victorian we spent Halloween at a few years ago.

Wow, what an amazing site. I thought I was pretty well informed about the local landmarks, but there were more than a few that I was unaware of.
I love all the old Victorian homes, especially those on Carroll Ave. If you've never been down that street, and you like Victorians, you really need to make the drive.
Thanks for the link, Snowflake!

The BOL for today is Griffith Observatory (http://bigorangelandmarks.blogspot.com/2008/07/no-168-griffith-observatory.html).
I really think a swanking needs to happen here. Of course, will I come down to LA for it? If I can, you betcha!

On a related note, I just posted a thread about latimemachines.com. The main page is kind of messy, for a taste, try:
