Saturday we're having an LA day (Maddy wants to see where she was born in Beberly Hills) and then Indy.
Sunday hang around probably and say we're going to clean the house but of course we never do.
Monday Maddy plays Polo and I'm doing nothing. Well perhaps trying out a few recipes for camping.
I have to say I do slightly miss my Mother's Memorial Day fest of spending the weekend cutting flowers and taking them to all the graves. Cemataries are so interesting. Lots of family history to sort out. And then we'd usually go to the lake. Then my Dad would attempt to listen to the Indy 500 on the radio which was never very successful because there was no reception. Which would of course make him cranky as he'd rather be home on the couch. Ahh a festival of fun.

On Sunday I'll be partying like there's no tomorrow. Except that there will be a tomorrow, during which more partying is very likely to occur.
I forgot it was a holiday weekend until this morning.
I'm sure we'll come up with something but it won't be planned.

I cannot believe MD is the 24th - 26th. I hardly have anything on my calendar - work wise. This is usually a slammed weekend for me. I've kept it open because if the potential of work, so nothing planned except Indy.
However, the weekend AFTER MD is super filled with stuff both work and fun.

3-day weekend's worth of chores Saturday morning.
INDIANA JONES night with 20 of my closest friends. The movie better be good, because it will be my third screening. If it's not good, it will be my last.
Sunday - - a late afternoon wedding. The first I've gone to in over a year that I haven't performed the ceremony for. This will be a welcome relief. After the reception, it's off the car-b-que on the opposite end of the L.A. basin ... arriving just before the overnight portion of the festivities ... so I intend to encourage more festivities on Memorial Day!

I don't think that'll require much encouragement. ;)

Let's see I'll probably go see Indy. The other big thing is that my parents are rolling out of town for two weeks on Sunday. They are headed for Washington State to help my Grandma move across town (she just sold her home). I've been left at home for a few lengthy times when they have gone up there but this will be the first time I am really Independent. One of my younger brothers has already moved out and my youngest brother is on his way out. He doesn't spend too much time here anymore. So it will be just me as King of the Castle! yay!
Party at Bopper's place! :) Who's coming? (just kidding of course) Maybe this calls for its own thread entirely. ;)

Hey Kevy - assuming I do in fact move down there this fall, can I tag along to an event with you guys sometime? I miss eventing and I don't know anyone down there.
As for me - I do have some plans for Memorial Day. They mostly involve shipping the spousal unit over to his folks across the mountains for the weekend. For as long as possible. Because seriously, I am so sick of this sh!t.

Here is a link (http://www.adrianempire.org/event-site-featherly.php) from the event a couple of years ago (not surprisingly, the site is out of date).

You won't catch this chick on skates. I used to love skating, but when I sprained both of my ankles (at the same time), that was the end of any future skating. I did try at my 20 year reunion. I put the skates on, stood up, and sat right back down and took them off.
I have a good friend on the Bakersfield Rollergirls. I saw her today (she is also the artist behind my claws). She really put the pressure on me to go.
All of my plans for Friday/Saturday have changed. Boy no longer has baseball practice Friday, so I don't have to worry about that, just go to Chuy's and enjoy myself as much as possible with a giant, overprotective 11 year old.
Saturday morning, we are still heading over to The Old People's house. Satuday afternoon, 3ish, I get to meet Dawn at a sporting goods store to get her son and mine some cleats. She wants to pay, so I will let her. Saturday night it is the Derby.

I didn't go out Friday night. My friend called so say that she wasn't able to go. I didn't mind, I didn't really feel like going out.
Yesterday was fun. I really enjoyed the Derby. I liked that they had the rules listed on the program. It made it easy to figure out what was going on. Boy played in the mini arcade for the entire game. Next time he will spend the night at The Old People's and I will go alone to the game and then be able to go to the after party at a bar.
We just got home from seeing Prince Caspian.

I had the worst actual Memorial Day I can recall. If I would have killed every person that said the phrase "Nobody told me", I could have filled a good sized cemetary. But I guess all those young men and women died so the dimwits, fvcktards and general asshats of the country have the right to act like that.
