Youtube is a wonderful thing! If you look hard enough it becomes a virtual record hop as people share their record collections with the world. They do this by either recording a video with a picture of the record label or filming them actually playing their record on a turntable. Every day I am going to try to post a link to a video featuring one of my favorite records. If you think this is fun I invite you to do the same

Let's start off with a record I actually own. I don't have a large record collection at all. That is probably surprising to you because I am a enthusiast of the old sounds. However I have no working turntable so all my records do is collect dust. However this following record is one I am proud of because it is the first one in my small collection. My Great Uncle gave it to me for a nickle (in fact all my records were once his).

From 1959 on the MGM subsiderary, Cub here is Joe "Speedo" Frazier leading The Impalas with their biggest seller "Sorry (I Ran All the Way Home)" (http://youtube.com/watch?v=jQSmneItg5I)

Today's record is actually much more recent than yesterday's. 1979 to be exact. One of my favorite bands from more recent times are the blues revivalists, The Fabulous Thunderbirds! Off their debut album, here's their version of Mathilda (http://youtube.com/watch?v=h6P-FnvfirQ)

A Golden Record Award to the first person who tells me what Swamp Pop (CLUE) group recorded the original version (which peaked at #47 on Billboard) and what year it was recorded!
