I don't think I've been so repeatedly gut-punched by an artist.

A Beijing Manga/Comic artist named Coco Wang has done a graphic art series based on the recent earthquake in China. It's quite heartbreaking. You can see them online (http://www.paulgravett.com/articles/133_china/133_china_1.htm).

This is why the comic book form of art is so wonderful.

Wow, that was brutally heart wrenching.

Incredible...

One of them has me thinking of a horrible, horrible joke; I'll refrain from ruining the power and beauty of these pages of art.

There's a new series of strips, this time about the Panda rescue (http://earthquakestrips.blogspot.com/2008/06/strip-11-panda-panda.html) post-quake.

Hmmm, so I didn't see this thread before. The Panda one is quite enjoyable.

The early ones ... not so much.

Don't think I've ever broke down crying from a comic strip before. Hmmm.

I did for this - several times, actually. Each new piece was another heartwrench. But I love it, nonetheless. So human: such bravery in the face of such adversity.

My Father is a Hero is a fine, fine piece of artwork.

Wow, wonderful way to document this. I've never heard such amazing stories from earthquakes around here - thank goodness.

I've heard that the parents of the children who were killed in those crappy school buildings are causing scenes, but the government is brushing them off.

Having them hauled away by police, is more like it.

The gov't of China behaved very well in the immediate wake of the disaster, but has since reverted to its usual insidieous ways.
