So, I don't know who this guy was, nor have I read his stuff. Apparently he killed himself on the 2nd of July. Someone I know posted about it so I went to investigate who he was.

Something that might interest the creative among us.

That's a pity. I enjoyed reading The Brave Little Toaster (and seeing the movie as well) and I also read and enjoyed his horror novel The M.D. I know he has a lot of science fiction titles worth catching up on, and an upcoming novel entitled The Word of God. (That's intriguing.) A cursory scan of his bio reveals that he lost his partner just a few years ago and had been suffering from depression ever since. Sometimes, an artist's suicide casts too long a shadow on that person's work thereafter, which is too bad. What little I've read of Disch had considerable wit and style.

Suicide is always tragic.

I was a fan of The Brave Little Toaster film. Perhaps I'll dig up the story...
