Oh my gosh! Can I just say I'll be lucky to get my voice back next week?
(Not to mention getting rid of this stupid freakin' hangover... )
Being a super huge die hard Motley Crue fan, I was ecstatic to say the least that they were back together and going to tour. Many many thanks to my sweetest Mommie in the whole world who paid $200 for me to have great tickets! I love her!
Skeptical...I was a bit! Here are guys all in their 40's, heading out on rock tour, with a schedule worthy of any band in their 20's. I took lots of joking and teasing that I was going to see them..."They are hasbeens, their old, I can't believe they think they can still rock."...well all you nay sayers.....kiss my butt!!!! It was UNFUKINBELIEVABLE!
They sounded amazing! It wasn't a stretch for me to close my eyes and imagine I was back in the 80's...their stage show wasn't over the top...even though it did feature VERY scanty clad female circus performers (who were amazing in their own Circue Du Soleil style!) Vince Neil sounded amazing...he was actually singing most of the words to the songs...(I've seen them before when he only sang half the words!)..so I was impressed! He hit every high note...with perfection! Mick Mars played some of the best guitar I've every heard...he rocked the whole show...not bad for a guy who just had a hip replacement right before leaving on tour! Tommy Lee was, well, what he is! Over the top...he did his drum solo...suspended on wires..flying thru the air ala' Peter Pan. Then of course, he broke out his "Tittie Cam" and several young ladies (who weren't even alive during the Crue's heyday) flashed what they were born with! (Just for the record...I stayed fully clothed!)
And Nikki Sixx played the most amazing bass I've ever heard! You could feel it in your heartbeat!
They played from every album...played lots of old stuff...all my favorites! I cried like one of those silly girls you see in the videos! Felt kinda silly! But then looked around...the pavillion was filled with people our age...who grew up on the Crue and totally appreciated what they were doing!
I was so worried they would sound and look old...like they were trying to relive something they had lost...but halfway during the show...it hit me that these guys were born for this...They are made for rock! And that gift must be shared! Which they did share...for 2 hours 45 minutes...with a 10 minute intermission! No opening act! WOW!
I've seen them twice before....and I must say...this was the best!
I'd be remiss if I didn't say this was THE best rock show I've ever been to!
Now...could someone PM me a Bloddy Mary with a Tylenol chaser!
