As I sit here with a beautiful salad of cucumbers, onions, and heirloom tomatoes, I figured I'd recommend our veggie delivery service to anyone who's interested.
You can pick the frequency of delivery and exactly what you like and do not like. They also have other groceries available like fresh eggs from local farms. Ken and I spend about $25-$30 on our delivery every two weeks, and we get enough to make awesome dinners for those two weeks. The quality is outstanding, and the produce lasts forever. We just added eggs to our delivery, and they arrived in an insulated bubble pack with two ice packs.
They send an email about one week prior, listing what will be in our veggie box on the next delivery, and we can log in and make any changes that we like. Some stuff can be a bit pricey, depending on the season, but we end up with quite a box load for our bucks.
Anyway, here's their site:
www.spud.com
And, you can use the code CR5-997105 to receive $25 off between the first four deliveries.

I was looking at their site, for SF dellivery. I may consider it, the stuff certainly looks good on paper (monitor) good to know you've had a good experience.
Something healthy with that freezer full of meat! ;)

I think it's awesome that you guys are using this! We probably would, too, we just really like our weekly Sunday-morning date at our local Farmer's Market. If we run out of time, I'll totally consider it!

Susan looked into this and found out that they don't deliver to Brea :(That sucks! It's not like Brea is all that far from us. Hopefully they'll add your area soon. I heard that they are adding more areas as they grow.

We have a very little one on Sundays in Garden Grove, so I'll supplement with a few things from there, like avocados, since I'm very picky about them. I love Farmer's Markets. :)
Sadness, they don't deliver in my area either. Miss B is the original veggie freak...she'll ask for a salad over chocolate.

That's stupid.
Did you try calling them? Because maybe their website location search is a bit wonky.

Spud doesn't deliver to my zip code either. I use Beach Greens (http://www.beachgreens.com/) for my veggie delivery. I'm very happy with them but, when T told me they also could get eggs and other dairy, I was excited. I miss my HomeGrocer deliveries.

I go to the store and pick up my veggies like normal people.
;)
No meat? What kind of freaks are these people?

I will look into this but I live in an apt.complex.If they left food outside it would be stolen. If they can deliver to my workplace I could consider doing this after I start driving.

Meat is obviously handled completely different, not to mention a different set of folks choosing what is good to sell. I think a butcher would be much better at that. But do they deliver?? And I don't mean those frozen over-priced Omaha Steak people.....
