As a totally random thought, not in any way connected to any other threads (http://www.xenarchy.com/LoT/showthread.php?t=825)...
How many people here carry an Internet connection with them to the park? Either a web enabled cell phone, Pocket PC mobile, or something similar?
I carry a Pocket pc mobile with me just about everywhere (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=27063&highlight=geek)....

Well, my cell is web enabled, but I barely know how to turn it on and off. I did bring it with me the last visit to DL, so I guess the answer is 'me', but I haven't actually used the Web feature.

I, too, carry my web-enabled cell phone everywhere I go.

I carry my Azim wherever I go, but I have to go to the AP lounge to get connected.

I just know that if I could post from the park I would do so far too often. All I have is a normal phone, not even a picture phone.
If I have a posting emergency I call someone who's not at the park. Matterhorn Fan has been our go-between before.

It might be fun to have an alert system set up (rather like one I did for FEMA...) for web enabled people.
Buzzz! SM is now on softopen
Buzzz! Cast Member Matt is visiting the subs
Buzzz! etc....
Of course to do something like that you would need a backend service, some type of web site thingy to allow people to send/receive alerts as needed...
Gee this could be just like a flash crowd (http://catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/F/flash-crowd.html)...

Oh... I was thinking of the song "Wild In The Streets" by the Circle Jerks...
Hey! Somebody posted in this thread to-night under my name. Though the post was harmless, it nevertheless was not by me. As I was able to use the edit feature, the post was probably written a few minutes before I signed on. This concerns me -- as you might imagine. If anything inappropriate is posted under my name -- it won't be by me. I don't know if this has ever happened before and I am not sure what to do besides change my password.
Sorry.
Geo.

My celphone has tiny limited internet, the only time I've found it useful is to check Park hours and, one year, figure out why there were so many Goths in Disneyland. I don't text people, PITA.
I really wanted to say that everytime I see the title of ths thread, I think it says, "Weird in the park." Ha! Just a little.
