So I just got my eyebrows threaded. And wow they look great, if I do say so myself. It's a slightly uncomfortable process, but fortunately it's pretty quick. Oh, the things we do in the name of beauty....

Based on the word "threading" I now have a picture in my mind of something done with a needle and thread that would look best on Frankenstein. Can you please elaborate or better yet post a photo of what in the hell "threading" is?
Thanks. <Old Fart Smilie>

It's hard to explain, but I'll give it a go.
It's an ancient asian technique for removing hair ~ the technician uses a length of cotton thread which they hold in their hands, with the end of it in their mouth, while they twist it to remove the hair by the roots. It results in a very clean removal technique, or so I'm told. It's still pretty uncomfortable though - hair being removed by the roots is like that, I guess. My eyebrows look a little less fuzzy now though:D

So there's something even more painful than waxing? That wasn't awful enough?

It's probably much the same - but it's quicker! And I have pretty sensitive skin, and it doesn't seem to irritate it as much (fingers crossed).

Hmmmm...that sounds interesting. I'd give it a try. My pain threshold is generally pretty high. I just don't like my eybrows overly thin. The last girl I went to, yikes!! She waxed them into a very thin arch. I looked in the mirror afterwards and I was like this... .

MP - you'd be fine. I don't like a thin brow either - my brows are naturally very fair anyway, so I need something to be there!

Quicker than waxing?? I had no idea that threading was quicker than waxing!!! I'd defintely like to give a try, especially since now I know someone who's done it and liked it!

If they're good, it's pretty quick. My brows were a bit of a mess, since I hadn't had thenm done in a while - it probably took a bit longer than usual. but if you get it done regularly, it's pretty fast.

Do they do one hair at a time or a bunch of hairs?
I've heard that this is a better method than waxing...I loathe waxing and plucking! Urgh!
I have eyebrows from hell..with minds of their own!

They get a whole bunch at once - hence the slight discomfort, but the speed. I'm a convert!
