Those crazy scientists (http://tech.msn.com/news/articlecnet.aspx?cp-documentid=9337061>1=40000) are at it again! This time working on a material that will render objects invisible.
The material will neither absorb nor reflect light. Anything covered in it will defeat being seen by human eyes! Will the Marauders's Map be next?!?

Cool story (http://www.loungeoftomorrow.com/LoT/showthread.php?p=231479#post231479)!
Keep in mind, though, that if you were wearing such a thing you'd be blind. Might be good for hiding but not much for spying.

D'oh! There go my Porky's-esque locker room shenanigans.
At the risk of spoiling good talk of locker rooms and free trips to Disneyland, here's some (http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080811-meta-material-does-not-render-anything-invisible.html) reporting on the actual science rather than the science reporting you get from news wires.
The articles in the regular press were using some words in very incorrect ways (one article I read included the idiotic phrase "very thin two-dimensional objects") so I assumed something was off in the reporting.

Can't get much thinner than two dimensional!

Gives new meaning to I can't see you you can't see me.
