Okay, I know I am not the only person with an insane boss. This thread will be for sharing your amusing (as in, "if I didn't laugh at this, I would go insane") moments.

To start:

We sent an email blast to our clients recently and a couple of them reported us as spam (we used a mass email service provided by Go Daddy - our email service). Since I tend to handle technical details, I was the one who was able to secure the info on who it was and reported to my boss and a co-worker.

I then get this email from my boss (paraphrased). Note that Person X (the co-worker) was copied on the email:

Kevy,

Please have Person X prepare an email explaining ...

Again: Person X was copied on this email.

So naturally, I forwarded the email to person X and said
Person X,

Per Boss's email below please prepare an email explaining ...

My team leader and my boss are both on this very website. So.

My boss and my team leader are both brilliant and easy to work with! Also, their farts smell like roses!

(In all seriousness, it's the clients, not my coworkers, that give the job its more challenging moments.)

Having worked in many varations of Crazytown over the years I've got lists -

Labeling a folder confidential Mr. X's eyes only (per instructions so it would be top secret) then later getting in trouble because the contents of the folder wern't on the label.

Spending two evenings driving around LAX looking for Mr. Z's car because he couldnt' remember where he'd parked it. It was a black BMW - oh yea that was easy to find. Finally found it in short term parking - cost me about $250 to get it out.

Interrupting meetings for important phone calls from (instert big name person) who really wern't on the phone to impress clients in meeting.

Getting totally reemed for taking a message and telling the caller that'd I'd give Mr. Z the message. How DARE I tell someone that I'd give him the message what if he didn't want to talk to them blah blah blah. I actually just clocked out and walked out of that job right then and there.

One boss who'd get bored at airports so call me with random things at like 6 AM. Oh he also once wanted to take an earlier flight, was in line at the check in counter to change but had me call the airline to try and do exactly what he was trying to do at the counter.

And one of my personal favorites - getting a Birthday card with a gift that read "you don't really deserve this but here it is anyway."
