I like the pumpkin spice frappuccinos. Yumm.

My favorite season is almost upon us, sweet!

Summer is almost over, thank you sweet Jesus. Yesterday was cold and overcast -- I haven't felt more alive in months.

I'm feeling a nice "almost Autumn" breeze through the window right now. *happy sigh*

I'm absolutely seriouis... but you've gotta check out the latest stuff from Monin. Got to try some of it at the restaurant show that was just in LA, and it's fantastic. They have a nice pumpkin, if I recall - though at the show I had mango spice... so yummy!

As for the Starbucks version, I think I drank too much of it way back and burned myself out. :(

These words shouldn't be uttered in August.

As long as Gingerbread Lattes at Pete's are around the corner, I'll be happy.

Halloween cannot start until October 1st.
Thanksgiving cannot start until the beginning of November.
Christmas cannot happen until the day after Thanksgiving.

Period.

The foot is down.

Mmmmm. :coffee: I have not had Starbucks in a long time. Maybe it is time for me to try to get out to one. :)

I can deal with the Pumpkin spice being brought out early- it is after all, harvest season. Gingerbread, though, should not be until Thanksgiving.

I think I'll be drinking more coffee in the future. I love those syrups and I will break my moratorium on corn syrup to have them.

Ok. I've got a $5 Starbuck's giftcard that's been in my wallet way too long...

Oh, come to me, sweet pie in a cup!!! :D

You are an evil little woman, Betty!

But I stopped by Peet's today, and guess who now has pumpkin spice! (because, of course, they use real sugar-based Monin syrups). I couldn't decide if I wanted the pumpkin or my usual vanilla, so she did a half-and-half. Pumpkin candy in a cup! (Actually almost too much, I'll probably hold to one or the other in future, but it's an experience that may have to be tried by all)

I have a friend from High School who works as a Manager at a Starbucks in Athens, GA and she let me in on a secret. There is only one seasonal item they can make all year round (because they keep the syrup in stock and use for items) and that is peppermint. You have to ask for it because it is not advertised.

Grumble grumble Starbucks grumble...

Went there today and they said they can't start selling them till tomorrow. They wouldn't make me one. I shoulda backed out of the drive through! (But you know I didn't... :/ )

Yes - I found out this morning... but I told them that when I was there last week, their coworker had said today. And I was actually there at 5:00am this morning... And they both know me from last year's pumpkin spice season where I went a few times a week and have only been back a handful of times since then.

In fact, they mentioned that they are extending their treat recept promotion - which is if you go in the morning and save your receipt you can come back and get a cold drink for $2. They were encouraging me to come back for a cold version of the pumpkin spice this afternoon but I declined.

And yes -I really enjoyed it. It could have been a tad more pumpkin-y but it really was terrific.

In a tall 2% syrup flavored latte there are at least 250 calories.
