Unfortunately, I'll be stuck with a giant Whoopi for the forseeable future.

How about if we go but just hang out outside the theater instead of entering? I don't think I can stomach seeing it a 4th time...

What part of the theatre do you think Imagineering will preserve to hide in the new attraction?

Aw. I actually liked the movie. I liked how they gave a little history lesson with Whoopi to add a little levity.
Did I miss something, CoasterMatt? Why will you be stuck with a giant Whoopi?
I'd love to go but alas I can't.

Aw. I actually liked the movie. I liked how they gave a little history lesson with Whoopi to add a little levity. What was your favorite Golden Dream - the one where a child blows up or the one where a woman lives in servitude for the rest of her life? ;) Just messing with you, MW. :)

LOL
No, I didn't like it for pleasure but I did like that it told the truth. Honestly, I usually teared up during it.
But I am a sap.

I enjoyed it enough to be happy i saw it 1 and only 1 time.
personally It didnt draw in the crowds, and will now sit unused except for the few school organizations who need to use it... then go under the sea.

I liked the original version of the movie before they toned it down.

Me, too!
:D
I don't think I've ever teared up during Golden Dreams. I know sometimes I tear up at the finale of Soarin'. But, then again, I'm a big 'ol sap.

The best things about the Decapitated Whoopi Movie were:
1) The old version, "Honey, I Blew Up The Kid". Yes. They showed a chinese boy going boom boom. Fun for the whole family.
2) The first time seeing it, and a lady in the front row literally screaming in terror when Whoopi first opened her eyes.
Oh, good times.
Saw it again on the last Gumball Rally. Worse than I remembered!
Good riddance, Whoopi!

Once - to see it.
Twice - to make sure it was as awful as I remembered. It was.
Thrice - MouseAdventure. Curse you, MouseAdventure!!!

Maddy used to love it because it was "educational". I think I've seen it around 10 times - I'm still trying to repress the memories.

Ken's never seen it and wants to, merely to scoff at the "historical" bits.
But, alas, he is still passless, so it looks like he'll have to wait for the YouTube premiere. ;)

You might want to stop at the cove bar first:cheers:

Eh, it was even worse the second time. No more exploding ChinaBoy. Ugh.
The poor-man's American Adventure finale always made me ill.

If we lived down there we would love to go with you. I'm guessing I saw the old version though, would be interesting to see what changed.
Have fun though!

Hey, I may not be around a lot but I do still count!!
I do like it. I don't remember seeing the exploding boy. Glad for that!
I have to say, it was the part about the woman coming to SF to meet her husband, how she was treated, and how she handled it, that brought tears to my eyes.
I also loved that it was educational.
Also, I love Whoopi. Been a fan forever. I like her sense of humor, her way. Reminds me of an eccentric aunt or something. Everyone needs an eccentric aunt. With a lot of cats.

I wish Lisa were an aunt to my kids. I think they would be blessed. Oh, and Chris as their uncle, too. Would be awesome.
Are they taking any wayward nieces/nephews?

On the side of the escalator/elevator down to the Studio Tour - there's a giant standing Whoopi billboard.
It wasn't lit during Halloween Horror Nights, and all you could see was a giant set of floating teeth.

I don't think the film is awesome, but I have found it somewhat inspirational.
That is, until I went to check out all the details that people have pointed out. ;)

It was edutainment at its most funspirational.
innerSpaceman
09-15-2008, 02:25 PM
Um, no it was not.
It was so pathetic compared to the Disney edutainment vehicle it copied so blatently from (so as to invite such comparisons), that it can not be considered anywhere near the most funspirational.

and, OMG, SPELL-CHECK TAGGED "FUNSPIRATIONAL", BUT NOT "EDUTAINMENT"!!!!! OMG!
Which is all to say, iSm is right, of course. Even though I don't know what show Golden Dreams was copied from.

Oh, the frellingtastical American Adventure at Epcot. Golden Dreams ripped off the finale to meager effect (not to mention ripping off the song title for its film title).
Sorry, didn't recognized the dripping sarcasm. Next time, drizzle it with chocolate, please.
