Okay, so I'm dying to go on a trip. Camping is cheapest, and local camping even better! So I'm thinking of maybe heading to O'Neill Park (http://www.canyonlife.com/O'NeillPark.folder/KERRYWEB/oneill.htm) or Caspers Wilderness Park (http://ocparks.reserveworld.com/GSPRedirect.aspx?p=R&i=426). I'm presuming some time in October, but the official date is TBD. These locations are both very convenient to Orange County.
Before picking a weekend and making ressies, I thought I'd feel out whether some folks'd like to join in on the fun.

I could surely do a camp trip, but timing in Oct will be tricky for various reasons, both $ and non-$ related.
if the timing works, Im surely in. hoping to do a few days or a week?

Can't take any time off from work, so this'd be a Fri-Sun for me. Simple cheap weekender.

ah, that helps my chances immensely (not to mention makes it relatively cheap)
I can live on jerky and nuts for a few days. :-)

Yeah, cheap being the operative word. I was hoping to go somewhere a little nicer, but I'd have to head past Ventura Co. for that and I simply don't want to waste the time or the gas. These places are like 10 miles or less from where I am.

Let's camp in the esplanade and say that we're lining up for the 55th birthday :D

You know, we could do a camping/Terra Cotta Warriors thing. Take off Friday, go see some bad ass chinese fighter-types in Santa Ana, and then go to the Santa Anas and do the camping thing for the weekends.
I'm DETERMINED to see some Asian clay action!
I am all in for camping. Hopefully I'll find something to sleep on by then. If not, I'll just drum all night. :D

Not sure, that may be a weekend the boy and I have to spend gathering up our foodstuffs and sticking them in plastic bags (they're fumigating our complex shortly after)
I really wouldn't hold off the terracotta thing for this.

Would anybody still camp in early November? Or is that just too cold? I'd be concerned about weather at that point.

Ken and I have been wanting to camp by ourselves for the longest time, so our next venture will probably just be the two of us. And, we really can't commit even $1 to recreation right now anyway. So, we're out of group camping for awhile. Sorry.

I'd consider it.
