View Full Version : An Invitation

Despite the fact that pretty much everyone here lives thousands of miles away from me I wanted to politely invite y'all to my Birthday Party. I was hoping that the exact date and time would be pinned down by now but it has not (it really doesn't matter too much in this instance). All I know is that it will be held next Friday night or Saturday afternoon. I realize that y'all will definitely be declining but I still I wanted to invite y'all anyway because you guys mean a lot to me. While we may be miles apart you are all close to my heart. Yeah I know that may sound cheesy and overly sentimental but those are my Honest-to-God feelings. Heck, you even invite me to your gatherings and I live all the way out here on the not-so-bitter Southeastern Coast.
I hope to be blessed with the presence of the swanky spirit of the LoT Commune. It wouldn't be a true party without y'all! ;)

Now wouldn't you just be floored if we all showed up on your doorstep wearing party hats and streamers, holding balloons?

I think he's be more surprised if we all turned up wearing Balloons and holding party hats and streamers.....
...but I think I'll have to miss this one, Brian. I'll wear a Balloon on the day in your honour. :D

While yes it is possible to wear balloons...I've seen it done at Fairs and such...it would shock me a little to see you holding party hats as well. Why bring party hats when you are already wearing balloon hats? It would be so funny though...sounds like something Monty Python would do.
It would be quite a shock if y'all just showed up...especially since most of you have no idea what my address is...and then Kevy is right...I'd be in a panic because of the lack of food and libations. That's nothing a swing by the package store and the supermarket (for Bacon!) couldn't fix (after taking a picture with all the streamers you just threw on me). I will be incorporating bacon into the menu though.

But of course, Marmalade it a must!
....oh, and give Herod my love while you're there..... Sorry, King Herod The Great (http://www.livius.org/he-hg/herodians/herod_the_great01.html) won't be able to make it. But I will be attending a tea at Harrods Dept. Store (http://www.streetsensation.co.uk/sights/harrods.htm)

Dear BDBopper,
I can't attend on account of distance (only the width of the Pacific Ocean, but still enough to prevent my attendance), but believe me when I tell you I'd be there partying with you if I could. Thanks for the invite !!!
Big hugs,
The Stoat.
Happy Birthday Party, mwah!

What? My Birthday hasn't been declared a National Holiday yet? Damn! :p
All kidding aside I think they are right in not even considering it. I haven't done anything as worthy as those people whose Birthdays have been decalred Holidays.

Well no wonder definite plans were never finalized. There will NOT be a party with family. I guess tentative plans changed after my Dad and Mom spent several hours over at Grandma's (Dad's mom) and there might have been some issues. Bless their hearts she is somewhat difficult to deal with.
It looks like just a very small (probably just my parents...now that the extended family is not involved anymore my brothers will probably skip out) group at Red Lobster. It's better than nothing and I have not been to RL in awhile but compared to where I originally wanted to be (with you guys out in SoCal) months ago, this is a big step back. I guess I should have stuck to the Red Lobster idea I had originally had a week and a half ago since I assumed there were issues already.
Meh. :(

I'm sorry there were issues...
:(
That sucks.
But just remember that while a big party is not in the plans, it dosn't mean that you are any less loved by your family.
Take care, buddy.

I know. And I feel bad for complaining...even here in cyberspace...but I can't help it. Bleh what conflicting feelings.
At least I found out now and not on Friday. I'd feel even worse then.
You know what? Who cares if something didn't roll my way in the plans? It's my Birthday gosh darn it, and I am not going to sit around moping because something went awry. I'm just thankful that I able to be blessed living and being alive to see 26 considering the dire forecast and ong odds I was given when I was born. So take that! :)

Don't feel bad for complaining; you had an idea of what you wanted and it didn't happen.
We'll celebrate extra when you get out here!

Okay folks get a load of this one...
Last night at the dinner table my Mom asks a last-second request of me. One of the students at the Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett (for what it is worth his name is Andrew) is turning 16 on Monday. For whatever reason his party at the school cannot be held on Monday and so it is this Friday. Andrew's mother would like me to DJ his party. Of course my heart is bigger than my head and I accepted (I would not even think of turning anything like that down). Heck it's a Birthday Party. It might not be my own but heck I'll take it!
Do you think I possibly am being set up here? I guess I'll find out tomorrow at 2 PM

I will be there in spirit, if I can swing the trip, however, is it too late for good Georgia peaches?

I think we still have a few of them left. Come and get them before they're gone!
