Moonie Jr. is attending a social event this weekend. The theme is the 60's
Any ideas for dress? He's not much into the hippy tie-die flower power Austin Powers look. Perhaps the Apollo Mission Control Look...

Edited to add: Damn. I hate when I get typos in the title...

I like the idea of the Apollo Mission Control look!
You could go with a really cool Dr. No look - Nehru jacket and all. I always thought that was rather fetching. Or then there's the Mad Men thing which is kind of hot right now.
Just my .02.

I have always liked fashion from the early 60s.

Yeah, Mission Contol is a little too generic to be attributable to any decade, but there's plenty of 60's fashion that's not groovy hippy.

I could send him my dashiki.
I think he's got three choices: hippie, NASA or drag (Pucci prints, Jackie O glasses and a big hairpiece)

Animal House?Oh yeah, that's one of those movies that's supposed to be a period piece but isn't. Much like 1969 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094594/).
What about the early Beatles mop top look?

Gilligan is great! Alas his response was "Who?" Apparently I have neglected his education in the fine arts.
We discussed options last night and it turns out he wants to go the Hippie route. Which is always easy to re-create. So problem solved.
Thanks for all the input.

Gilligan is great! Alas his response was "Who?" Proof that there is hope for the next generation.
Of course he's got his own pop culture silliness...

I can always tell the approximate age of a person if they recognize the name "Thurston Howl" or not - or at least of they were a product of BC vs PC (Before cable/post cable)

Oh please, know them? I could have been their mother. And I LIKED Charles in Charge.
As to the original question, I don't suppose you've got a Nehru suit in the attic?

Whew! That was a close one. We had the hippie thing all set when he happend to talk to some of his friends. Turns out, Friday (at school) was the 60's theme day. The Homecoming dance Saturday was strictly formal.
