Sportsbook.com says you gotta bet $700 on Barack Obama to win $100. John McCain is +400. In other words, bet $100 On McCain to win $400.

This aint my daddy's America.

Long time no post!

Somehow I doubt McCain will win.

So go bet heavily on McCain at 4-1. It might be the bargain of a lifetime.

Where the frell have you been.

Ok, read all of Political Thoughts Part Deux, All About McCain, Yes We Can, and Debates of All Ilk, and then you may pariticipate in the last two contentious weeks of the insane election season here on the LoT.

I've really missed you, btw.

You!

I've been missing you. I just remember the good times from last election. (You know, the good times. Before we lost. So I'm not a betting woman anymore.)

How the hell are you?

I'm good, LSPE. The family's good. It's been a tough year, though. But, with the exception of my brothers and their ongoing battles with crippling addictions, the storms have subsided and our family seems stronger for the experiences.

But that's a story for another thread or ten.

I think I'll probably pass on the archives, iSm (I've missed you, too. I've missed all of you.). Though I am curious, I admit, about what the LoT has to say about one Sarah Palin. And i cannot for the life of me imagine what scaeagles had to say about John Edwards and his senatorial schlong slinging. Aw heck, maybe I should take a quick peek at those threads.

That's just silly, Kevin. Why even hold elections if we can't bet on the outcome? There would be absolutely no point to it.

Actually, not much.

Are you sitting down?

I'm an avid Obama supporter, Sac. I've been campaigning for him and have contributed the maximum allowable to his campaign.

OK, I'm not exactly being truthful.

But I have decided there is no way in hell McCain gets my vote.

Sac- the most important thing we've learned is that Scaeagles reads the National Enquirer.

Hey SacTown! Nice to see you round these parts again. :) In fact, your name has been mentioned in a few threads wondering where the heck you've been.

Hope you stick around awhile.

Technically, betting on the outcome of an election is illegal.

So then why is it on sportsbook? Is it just an odds kind of thing?

I seriously don't know. I remember seeing in Vegas that you could bet on stuff I never thought possible though!

Kevy Baby

The sports books probably show odds for lots of thing that you can't actually bet on.

The Oscars is another thing that comes to mind that they show odds for that you can't bet on. In the case of the Oscars, it isn't illegal, but the casinos won't take a bet on something where it is POSSIBLE to know what the outcome is early.

Hopefully just kidding.Heh, my computer crashed and I made the mistake of taking it in for repair instead of fixing it myself. Took forever. I certainly hope to be around here more often than i have been.

Kevin, i don't think Sportsbook.com is located within our shores and they are able to offer wagers that you cannot make in a brick and mortar casino.
